How teenagers behave in adolescence and how to survive the crisis. At what age does adolescence begin?

Transitional age is a special period in a person's life. It is manifested by certain symptoms, to which parents should respond correctly. Children dramatically change their behavior, they are difficult to manage. However, this stage, although difficult, can be overcome without any problems.

There are techniques that allow you to establish normal relationships with children. Some parents will benefit from reading the relevant literature to avoid the consequences of communicating with the child. Indeed, it is at this age that there are a lot of deaths, when a small person could not find support from his parents and cope with his own experiences. Many run away from home, trying to find support on the street. They become disillusioned over time, but there may be no turning back.

What is transitional age? Its other name is puberty. For a child, not only the sensations of life and himself as an element of the whole system change, his body is transformed. Why adolescence called transitional? At this time there is a transition of each person into adulthood from the nursery. Everything changes: attitude to parents, to life, to the future.

How long is the transition period? Its duration can be approximately 4 years. Now children are growing up earlier, so the transition period can be reduced by 2 times, but this is all individual. At what age does puberty begin? From the age of 12 and ends at 16. In each individual case, this time period can vary in any direction.

The stage under consideration is notable for its complexity, a certain drama for some teenagers. Transitional age is associated with difficulties due to a number of reasons. The most significant factor is . Typical for teenagers high degree sensitivity to how others evaluate their appearance. At the same time, they show independence, firmness in opinion, which is expressed about other people.

When a transitional age sets in, in children one can simultaneously observe callousness, attentiveness, and painful shyness. There is a need to evaluate personalities authoritative for him. They want to be recognized, they behave in many situations quite cheekily. Characteristic at this stage is the deification of the idol. They strive in every possible way to demonstrate their own independence, fight against established rules, and oppose authorities.

This stage is manifested by the fact that adolescents are often not satisfied with their own appearance, dissatisfaction appears in own body. The child may have embarrassment about the body, he is embarrassed to openly show it. Often children do not want to be photographed, although they previously liked this activity.

All this can manifest itself due to ongoing changes at the hormonal level. Restructuring of absolutely all systems and internal organs should begin in the body. Throughout time, there is a need for a material that is the basis for the construction of fabrics. Because of this, there is a need for abundant nutrition, but there are changes in appetite.

Other reasons

The characteristics of the transitional age suggests that adolescents who have reached the age of 13-14 experience certain alternations of bursts of active periods. A child may be vigorous, but after a short time period he becomes tired or completely exhausted. The period of transitional age is characterized by the syndrome of teenage laziness. At the same time, parents describe this so-called syndrome by the fact that the child is lazy to do something and reveals a desire to lie down, sit, or does not want to stand upright (relies on various objects).

Experts associate these features of the transitional age with increased growth, so he expends a lot of strength and energy to perform certain actions. All this is reflected in the fact that the endurance of the child is greatly reduced. The manifesting effect of the syndrome is reflected in general condition and behavior of the child.

So, a teenager has some awkwardness, which leads to various breakdowns and damage to objects. These difficulties of adolescence may give the impression that a teenager is acting on purpose, but this is not so. All negative manifestations occur regardless of the child, they are caused by the restructuring of the motor system.

Coping with the changes in question is quite difficult, but over time, a teenager becomes an adult. In order for the process to be realized, large physical costs are necessary. If you pay attention to psychological aspect, then the child is hard enough to live at this point in time.

The transitional age in certain cases proceeds with difficulties that are associated with an unwillingness to grow up. It is in his subconscious that he will lose his usual state, so discomfort arises.

About the possible behavior of a teenager

Signs of adolescence are observed in the behavior of a teenager. Quite often it changes very much and becomes defiant. These changes are manifested in rudeness. He does not let adults near him, does not want to share his personal. In addition, his mood often changes, and he also does not allow a parent to be close to him, for example, he does not allow himself to be hugged. Psychologists compare this behavior with a hedgehog, which all the time repels others and.

Late transitional age is even more difficult. It is not uncommon for a child to refuse to clean their own room. Parents can observe a complete mess there, which absolutely does not bother the teenager. He also does not want to hear about household duties, it is very difficult to make them perform.

The symptoms of adolescence are also observed in the fact that the son or daughter tries to anger their parents, which can ultimately lead to a scandal. At the same time, a teenager may not worry at all about this.

The crisis of adolescence in adolescents sometimes negatively affects the condition of parents, as they all this time feel some confusion and cannot understand what actions to take. This whole process is painful for both parents and children, but all these symptoms can be overcome if you approach this behavior in the right way.

If the transitional age has approached, what should I do? Parents should respond wisely to such behavior. A teenager, with his extraordinary behavior, is trying to develop his own approach to certain events.

The crisis of this age makes it clear that a teenager is under pressure from various parties: parents, school and peers. So he tries to start living own life without outside help. Psychology focuses on the fact that a teenager is trying to declare to others about his existence. However, the problems of adolescence begin to develop here due to the fact that the child does not yet have goals in life, emotional stability is also not observed.

About the development of the personality of a teenager

How to deal with transitional age? In this case, psychology comes to the rescue. This science focuses on the fact that a teenager in this difficult period for him becomes a person. Therefore, no reproaches, humiliation or similar actions can be resorted to.

How to help a teenager during this period? First of all, you need to try to occupy him with something. But at the same time, you need to remember that the child must be perceived as an individual.

How long is the transition period? For each teenager, this time can last differently, but all the signs are almost the same: this is the desire for maximum independence and refusal to accept problem situations.

When the transitional age begins, adolescents have a feeling of excessive adulthood. At the same time, psychology notes that he has new level claims that do not match the actual state. Transitional age, features of contact with adolescents must be taken into account. It is extremely important for a child that his growing up is noted by parents and others. However, if the behavior does not satisfy adults, conflicts arise.

How to survive the transitional age? It is very important for a teenager that he receives and feels the support of loved ones all this time. But at the same time, the child can in every possible way refuse care and other manifestations of support.

What it is - correct behavior parents? It's lining up trusting relationship with loved ones. This process should be based on support, approval. The duration of the transitional age will also be determined by how well the parents behave.

You need to be prepared for the fact that a teenager will protest in every possible way, and he will not have enough adult advice. Communication will be accepted properly only in those cases when he understands what he has with adults equal rights. The transitional age is ending when a parent has a constructive conversation with his son/daughter. At the same time, there is no need to be rude, scream, etc. You just need to show in every possible way that the child is understood. It is necessary to share with him your own thoughts, experiences, etc.

When adolescence ends, the child already acquires the ability to independently think and understand various life situations. Interest in the life of a child should not be artificial or simulated. All his actions must be monitored and negative deeds prohibited.

additional information

Regardless of how old the transitional age began, it is recommended to use a certain developed technology to repay the emerging conflict between a teenager and adults. Not many parents know that in the process of quarrels with a teenager, one should not insult him or blame him for something. It is recommended to express your attitude towards the child, and only positive. This process should be called building trust.

In the first year of adolescence and beyond, it is necessary to build a dialogue with the child as correctly as possible. For example, you need to focus on the fact that rude behavior negatively affects adults, etc. At the same time, you need to be prepared for a sharp response from the child, for example, that he doesn’t care. But this is just a mask, and sooner or later this behavior must end. A teenager will definitely remember these words and draw conclusions for himself.

In the life of a child must begin new period, and it should not be supported by any insults or other negative emotions, since these are all mistakes. Allowing them, parents cause only aggression in their child. But all this passes with time, and as a result, only positive impressions from parental support. speaking out own feelings and feeling the child will be able to avoid conflict.

It is worth noting that the transitional age in boys usually begins somewhat later than in girls. At 13-15 years old, this is very noticeable: girls turn into girls, and boys still look childish.

When a difficult transitional age begins in children, not only their body changes, but also their consciousness, their sense of the world. All this affects nervous system child. Teenagers become irritable, aggressive. Parents don't know how to behave. To help the child get through this difficult period you need to know in advance what happens to children in the process of their growing up.

Every teenager has transition period manifests itself in its own way, has no clearly defined time frame. Therefore, it is impossible to indicate what are the signs of a transitional age and when exactly this period begins and how long this period lasts. Usually, this is the age from 10 years to 15-16 years. These figures vary to a lesser extent and to big side. The transitional age of girls, although it begins earlier than that of boys, is somewhat calmer.

Phases of adolescence in adolescents

Symptoms of adolescence are manifested in the preparation of the psyche and body of the child for future changes. At this time, children forget about balls, jump ropes and games with their parents and pay more attention to walks with their peers. Girls spend a lot of time at the mirror, getting used to changes in appearance, and the worldview of the boys is subjected to serious psychological tests: they are not ready for independent living, but there will be no return to childhood either.

External signs of adolescence

The beginning of adolescence is marked by external changes. In boys, the testicles and genitals increase in size, hair appears on the pubis and armpits. The breaking of the voice begins, the muscles actively develop. Most boys have wet dreams. In girls, the pelvic bones expand, the buttocks and hips are rounded, and the mammary glands develop. At 11-12 years old, menstruation can begin. Teenagers - both boys and girls - are actively growing. As the main symptom of transitional age, most people develop acne. This is due to hormonal surges in the body of a teenager.

A sharp and causeless change of mood, rudeness, a tendency to depression are signs of a transitional period. It is also caused hormonal changes in the child's body. The main task of parents is to help a teenager during this period. It is important at this time to lose touch with the child. Smooth out quarrels and conflicts.

It is very important that parents do not overlook the time when their child's transitional age begins. Correct reaction to physiological and psychological changes in the body of a teenager will help to less painfully survive the transitional age, the signs of which were described above.

Sooner or later, every child enters the time of growing up, along with it come the problems of adolescence. A kind, sweet, affectionate baby begins to change before our eyes, becomes rude, aggressive, and possibly, vice versa, withdrawn and distant. This is not surprising, because during this period children's body begins to change rapidly, along with this there are also changes in the worldview, attitude towards oneself and others.

The time of growing up is one of the most important, but at the same time the most difficult life stages of every person. The future of the child may well depend on how it passes. That is why the main main task of the parents of a teenage boy is to help him survive this period as painlessly as possible.

transitional age

In general, transitional age is usually called the time period during which puberty occurs in children. During this period, physical development and growth accelerates, systems and internal organs organism. It is very difficult to say exactly when all these processes will begin and end. This is due to the fact that the body of each child has its own, individual rhythms and physical characteristics.

Therefore, it is impossible to accurately predict at what age the transitional age for boys will come. It can start at the age of ten or fourteen and last up to fifteen or seventeen. Moreover, these indicators can vary. In boys, maturation occurs about a couple of years later, is much more active and lasts longer (about 4-5 years)

Experts believe that the onset of adolescence depends on various factors- heredity, nationality, level physical development, lifestyle, the presence or absence of bad habits, etc. Boys who ate right stuck to healthy lifestyle life and showed physical activity, enter puberty, usually on time.

But whenever he comes of age, he will consist of three main phases:

  • preparatory- it is often referred to as the younger adolescence. During this period, the mind and body are preparing for the coming changes.
  • puberty- this is the transitional age or adolescence.
  • Postpubertal- in this period, the psychological and physiological formation is finally completed. It already affects the time of youth, it is at this time that boys begin to show an active interest in the representatives of the opposite sex.

The body of a child with the onset of adolescence undergoes big changes, such changes affect both its appearance and behavior. The main reason for the changes are actively produced hormones. They are the ones to blame sudden changes mood, irritability, nervousness, intense growth, etc.

To begin with, consider the physiological changes that can be used to determine the transitional age in boys. The signs of puberty are as follows:

  • Be your child's friend. Since at this stage friends play a big role in the life of a teenage boy, parents need to make every effort to get into their number. So it will be much easier for you to be aware of what is happening in the life of your child, which means that you will be able to provide him with help or support in time. Of course, it is very difficult to become a friend of a child, especially if he is used to hearing only moralizing from you. Understanding the boy that you are equal to each other will help to do this. Remember yourself at this age, you probably thought that adults would never be able to understand you. Believe me, your son thinks the same. Try to dispel this belief, open up to the child from the other side, stand before him common man with its shortcomings and complexes. You can tell the boy something about yourself, tell a few stories about your youth, first love, problems at school, etc.
  • Do not limit the freedom of the child. In adolescence, there is a particularly acute need for personal space. Give it to the child. Moreover, we are talking here not only about their own territory in the apartment (room, table or corner), maturing children must have it, but also about freedom and the right to choose. You should not control every step of your son, rummage through his things, eavesdrop on conversations, this will only lead to negative consequences. Do not limit the child in everything, trying in this way to protect from trouble, because total control will not allow him to feel independent and will only turn against you. Naturally, it is impossible to destroy all frames, they must be, but reasonable. Learn to trust your son contentious issues offer compromises, but to learn more about his personal life, communicate more, but, in no case, do not interrogate.
  • Avoid excessive criticism. Naturally, there are circumstances when it is impossible to do without criticism, but it should only be constructive, and directed not at the child himself (you are a slob, lazy, etc.), but at his actions, behavior, mistakes, in a word, at everything that can be corrected. Since teenagers are too sensitive to any comments, express your dissatisfaction as gently as possible, you can even combine it with praise.
  • Show interest. The maturation of boys is accompanied by a change in the value system and worldview, it is not surprising that hobbies, judgments, and views change during this period. If you show interest in what your child is doing (but not obsessively) and support him in this, he will begin to trust you more. Do not be lazy to talk with a teenager, be interested in his life, reasoning, etc. It would not be superfluous to ask the son's opinion in solving general issues (what wallpaper to glue, where to move the cabinet, etc.)
  • Be Patient. If the child is rude or rude, try to control yourself. Remember, excessive emotionality is a consequence of the transition period. By answering your son in the same way, you will only provoke a scandal. It is better to try to talk to him later, in a calm atmosphere, such communication will be much more effective.
  • Praise more often. Praise is necessary for everyone, after words of approval wings seem to grow, there is a desire and strength to conquer more and more peaks. Praise your child more often, even for small achievements or just good deeds, this will serve as an incentive for him to develop and improve himself. In addition, praise is a good way to show that you care about the child.
  • Recognize his identity. A teenager, albeit small, but already a person who has his own interests, hobbies, outlook on life, opinion. Do not try to change your son, do not impose your beliefs, it is better to accept him as he is.

The transitional age in boys begins no earlier than 9 years, but no later than 14, it lasts from 4 to 5 years, not counting the post-pubertal period, which lasts until 22-23 years. Despite the fact that puberty in boys begins later than in the opposite sex, and stretches over a longer period of time, their transition period is no less acute, and even vice versa.

The understanding and support of the elders is necessary for the maturing young man, although he himself will never admit it. Therefore, it is important for parents to understand when their help is needed, and to provide it as tactfully as possible so as not to injure the already agitated psyche of a teenager.

Physiological features

Puberty in boys can be divided into several stages, characterized by certain physiological processes in the body.

  • prepubertal period. It usually begins at the age of 9-12, when there is an increased production of testosterone. The hormonal surge is characterized, in particular, by the production a large number sebum, which clogs pores, acne appears, hair becomes greasy, dandruff appears. AT rare cases an excess of androgens can even lead to alopecia, but in a timely manner Taken measures will stop hair loss and restore their original density. The visible signs of the onset of puberty in boys include the formation of their figure according to the male type: they become wider in the shoulders, muscular. The genital organs in boys also begin to grow, a little later in inguinal region hair appears, the skin around the scrotum darkens.
  • puberty. Peak puberty in boys reaches a couple of years, that is, by the age of 11-14, and at 15 years, most of them reach puberty. Puberty in boys has two features. The first is obvious to everyone - the boy's voice breaks. At this age, the vocal cords increase in boys, the throat muscles and cartilage develop. The period of breaking the voice in about two years will end, the voice of the young man will be finally formed.

A sign invisible to prying eyes is the continuation of the development of the reproductive organs, accompanied by an increase sexual attraction to opposite sex, involuntary ejaculation during sleep. Many young men at this time are characterized by sexual hyperactivity., which can lead to deviant sexual behavior, ranging from spying, interest in watching parnographic films, promiscuity, and ending with unconscious attraction to other young men. Usually this does not mean that in the future the young man will have a wrong sexual orientation: in the vast majority of cases, the problem disappears with the completion of the transitional age.

  • Postpubertal period lasts up to 22-23 years. Only by this age the young man is fully formed as a man.

The boundaries of puberty in boys are indicated conditionally - a lot depends on individual characteristics ranging from hereditary factors to lifestyle. Experts note that in children leading an unhealthy lifestyle, having bad habits or malnourished, puberty is delayed.

Psychological features

The transitional age in boys is characterized not only by physiological changes. Serious changes are also taking place psychologically.

Entering puberty, boy begins to "fixate" on his appearance. He examines himself in the mirror, groping his biceps, abs, trying to change his hairstyle, up to creating creative haircuts, shaving bald and growing back long hair may even come home with a tattoo. Clumsy, bright and defiant clothes seem to him fashionable and modern. Acne on his face worries him no less than his peers, although he may not show it, because he believes that caring for beauty is the prerogative of women, and does not want to be called a "girl".

Parents will do the right thing if they give the boy good deodorant, a high-quality set of hair care products to combat acne. It is absolutely wonderful if this is done by a man who serves as an authority for the boy. A joint discussion of youth fashion trends, the choice of clothes and shoes, taking into account the results of this exchange of views, will help to tidy up the wardrobe. A compliment made by a woman or girl (for example, older sister, mother's friend) will make him believe that he looks attractive despite acne, will increase the self-esteem of a teenager.

Not less than important feature transitional age in a boy - the desire of a teenager to prove himself a strong-willed, strong and able to solve problems as a man. At this time, it is easy to “take it weakly” and commit a rash act, and he himself is prone to heroism, starting from classes extreme views sports and ending with the initiation to cigarettes, alcohol, in the worst case - to drugs.

The task of parents is to direct energy in the right direction. There are probably many problems in the house that your growing son is able to solve: screw in a light bulb, fix a chair, remove a computer virus from your laptop, install a useful application on your smartphone - and you can’t list everything. In addition, you can prove your worth not only at home, but also at school, in a sports club.

Describing the transitional age, it is impossible not to say about irascibility and increased anxiety of teenage boys. They perceive almost everything with hostility, especially any criticism addressed to them, they respond to prohibitions by committing antisocial acts, they do not listen to their parents and bend their own line.

The only thing parents can do in this situation is to be patient. Do not answer a cry with a cry, an insult with an insult. Try to be the first to hear and understand your son, then he, most likely, will begin to listen to your voice.

Everyone knows such a thing as "transitional age", but few have the opportunity to say exactly what it is, what it is characterized by. And most importantly, most parents care about how old this age begins?

It is not possible to give specific numbers, since for each child the beginning of adolescence depends on individual characteristics: for some, changes in the body occur at 11, for others at 14, and the number of years is not always considered the main sign of the onset of the transition period.

Many parents are frightened by the moment when a child enters adolescence, since stereotypes create only a negative image of this period in their minds. Quarrels, scandals and the behavior of a child - all this scares adults. But if you learn how to properly handle such a child, the risk of conflict will be minimal. Any teenager is extremely irritable during this period, he needs maximum support to divert attention from unpleasant situations.

Beginning of adolescence

Adolescence refers to changes, both physiologically and emotionally, in other words, the child becomes a teenager. The main point during this period is puberty. The beginning of the transitional age depends on the genetic predisposition, the lifestyle of the child.

Changes in the body can begin at the age of 9 or 15. The duration of the period is determined individually, and if someone has a term limited to 2-3 years, then for others the transitional age sometimes lasts up to 7 years.

Teenagers are usually called girls from 10 to 15 years old, boys from 11 to 17 years old. Puberty in the female occurs earlier and lasts a short period of time.

Do not confuse "adulthood" with "puberty". The last concept is one of the phases that a child goes through in the process of maturation.

There are three stages in total:

  1. Prepubertal period - the body is preparing for imminent changes.
  2. Pubertal period - the formation of secondary sexual characteristics should begin.
  3. The post-pubertal period is the final phase of adolescence.

AT different countries the beginning of the transition period is determined in its own way, it is influenced by the area, religion and local traditions. In the south, for example, children are considered teenagers from 10, while in other states the end of this period comes at 19 years.

Features of adolescence in boys

At the age of 11-13 years, the timbre of the voice changes in boys due to the growth of the vocal cords and the development of the throat muscles and cartilage. The voice is rough. This process lasts for two years. The testicles and penis are enlarged. The first stubble begins to grow on the face. Over time, the hair on the legs becomes thicker, vegetation is observed in the armpits and in the groin. Hair growth continues until the end of adolescence.

Starts to rise rib cage, muscles appear, shoulders become wider. Involuntary ejaculation is noted while the boy is sleeping, the so-called wet dreams: this is considered normal.

An important period of transitional age in boys is the age from 14 to 18 years, when the rapid formation of sexual functions begins. At this time, hormones are produced in the body, due to which the young man has a sharp change in mood, he often behaves aggressively towards his parents and friends. Any event during this period is perceived especially sharply. In particular, strong discomfort for a young man causes sexual desire.

Features of adolescence in girls

Adolescence in girls begins at the age of 10, but there are those who are of the opinion that this period can begin at 8.

The first step is the expansion of the pelvic bones, the hips and buttocks become more rounded. For this reason, body weight increases. This process can continue after the transition period and is completed by the age of 22. The areola swells and becomes more visible.

As with boys, pubic and armpit hair appears, but in girls it is not as thick. The mammary glands increase in size.

The first menstruation can occur both at 11-12 years old, and much later - at 14-16. First time menstrual cycle does not differ in stability, but after a year, menstruation occurs regularly, at a certain time every 21-35 days. Underarm and pubic hair growth continues. The absence of secondary sexual characteristics at the age of 13 or menstruation at 16 is a reason for a visit to the doctor.

Psychological problems

Experiencing a transitional age, the child becomes a teenager, but not an adult. He is well aware that his body and organism are changing, which is why he has conflicting emotions. Teenage years indicates that he is no longer a child, and this is normal, but this gives rise to a fear of changes in the body, especially often children experience embarrassment if their transitional age has come earlier than their friends.

A teenager tries to hide changes in the body under clothes that are in trend among young people, he chooses things that will divert all attention to himself. The adolescent adjusts his behavior to the behavior of his older comrades, thus identifying himself with them. During this period, he needs all the best, like all fashionable youth.

At the same time, the teenager is trying his best to assert himself, showing that he is no worse than others, and in some talents surpasses his peers. Often a teenager begins to compete not only with friends, but also with parents. Losing does not suit him, and failures that do not happen so often will cause severe pain, which will cause deep depression, unwillingness to communicate or irritability and unreasonable aggression.

External changes bring a lot of emotions into a teenager's life: he is worried about everything, from unevenly growing stubble on his face up to excess, in his own opinion, weight. Those parts of the body that have not undergone changes, the teenager still begins to criticize. Ears or nose seem ridiculous to him, too big or small. Often many of the boys' experiences are based on the fact that they are still thin, but the body is strongly stretched upwards.

The sex appeal of the body excites teenagers no less than the rest. During this period, they pay all attention to how beautiful their skin is, whether the sexual organs correspond to the parameters of the ideal. These problems are perceived especially sharply due to the fact that interest in the opposite sex begins to grow, the teenager tries in every possible way to please his first love.

All this causes conflicts with family or peers, neurosis. Girls during this period often develop anorexia due to diets. Often, dissatisfaction with one's own appearance became the cause of suicide.

During this period, any inaccurate remark causes the teenager heartache especially if it concerns him appearance. As a result, he begins to feel flawed and inferior.

Silence is not always a sign that a teenager does not care about how he looks, so parents are advised to support their child and not allow him to live with complexes.

Problems begin with parents who still perceive the teenager as a child and do not allow him to make serious decisions. Many children during this period desire independence and recognition. For example, teenagers begin to imitate adults, often enter into disputes to defend their interests, out of spite they do what they are not told to do. But despite this, they are still not ready to take responsibility for what they have done, and do not always realize that everything has consequences: many rash actions lead to big problems.

The most difficult transitional age is in girls. They early begin to perceive themselves as adults, they have a desire to prove to everyone their independence, despite the lack of opportunities. Because of this, girls are forced to ask for help from their parents, which damages their pride. This is the most common cause of internal conflict in girls during growing up.

Like girls, boys feel the need to prove to everyone that they are already adults. This is due to the feeling of increased physical strength and the onset of sexual activity. The need for self-affirmation makes it impossible to remain calm and make informed decisions. During this period, the character of a teenager becomes difficult to control.

Low self-esteem and the feeling that no one cares about his problems, bring a teenager to a deep depression. Statistics show that every tenth teenager, experiencing a transitional age, thinks about suicide. Psychological problems bring suffering to both boys and girls. Feelings of inferiority, loneliness are dangerous for a teenager. According to a study of adolescents, one in four out of a hundred experienced major depression. If no action is taken, then the condition of the teenager worsens: his thinking and behavior changes, and the risk that he will harm himself increases.

What should parents do when their children are going through puberty?

During this period, parents need to talk to him and explain that changes in the body are temporary. It would be a mistake to tell a teenager that his problems are ridiculous, frivolous, all the more you can’t mock them. Parents should listen to the words of the child, give advice and help on the way to right decision. Reading notations and using force will lead nowhere: the teenager will become withdrawn or aggressive.

A close-knit family rarely encounters problems when the child begins to grow up and goes through a transition period. Parents can easily help in overcoming problems. For example, a great way out of a crisis situation is a hobby. Experts advise to send the child to any section where he can develop his talents.

In addition to clinical depression, there is a danger of developing drug addiction. Children begin to try drugs at the age of ten, and often this problem affects prosperous families. The reason for this is that teenagers are easily suggestible and take drugs for the first time only out of curiosity. To avoid this, parents should have a confidential conversation with the child and explain to him that drug addiction is serious disease which often ends in death.

If a teenager is still attached to drugs, this will be indicated by the following signs:

  • A sharp drop in school performance.
  • Lack of interest in hobbies.
  • Things and money are missing from the house.
  • Aggressive behavior, unpredictability.
  • Lack of sociability.
  • The teenager begins to lie all the time, he does not see anything strange in his behavior.

In such a situation, the help of a competent specialist is needed: a teenager should make an appointment with a narcologist and psychologist. It is not recommended to scold him and show aggression in order to help him, it is important to find out the reason why he is addicted to drugs and to assist in the treatment of addiction.

Parents need to monitor the child so as not to miss the transition period, so they will have time to change their behavior towards the child in time, without injuring his psyche and allowing the teenager to experience this time in a more relaxed environment. Each child has his own beginning of adolescence, and it does not always coincide with everyone, but from what age adolescence begins, a teenager does not become less of a problem. During this period, support and advice are needed, and how earlier parents begin to take care of their children, the easier this period will pass.
