The education of a value attitude towards the family among schoolchildren today is one of the priority pedagogical problems, the solution of which depends not only on the well-being of their future families, but also of society as a whole.
The family is a collective of different ages, of which the child becomes a member from the first days of his existence. The family team has a fixed customs, traditions, moral and legal regulations a complex structure in which children, parents, grandparents are united by a whole system of relationships: between older and younger children, between children and parents, etc. These relationships determine psychological climate family, in which the child's perception of the world, people, himself is formed. Joint housekeeping, leisure activities, various family hobbies - all this leaves an indelible imprint on the child. In the family, he acquires knowledge, skills and abilities in various fields, and, above all, in the field of communication, human relations. The sustainability of marriage and family relationships depends on the willingness of young people to family life, where readiness for marriage is understood as a system of socio-psychological attitudes of the individual, which determines an emotionally positive attitude towards a family lifestyle.
Of particular importance is the readiness for marriage on present stage development of society, when the number civil marriages increases in comparison with the number of officially registered marriages. A significant influence on the position of young people on this issue was exerted by the peculiarities of social attitudes and motives that were formed among schoolchildren relatively recently under the influence of changed social conditions and norms. Therefore, one of the topical areas of education of the younger generation is the education of the future family man.
The idea of establishing a Family Day originally originated at the international level. In 1989, wanting to draw attentionto the problems of the family, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 1994 the International Year of the Family. On September 20, 1993, the Assembly adopted a resolution according to which, since 1994, May 15 has been celebrated annually as the International Day of the Family.
In establishing this day, the United Nations Family Day Center intended that the celebration of the Day at the national level would promote the presentation of family-oriented projects, discussions on family issues, conferences and festivals.
The theme of the International Day of Families is different every year. The main theme in 2005, for example, was "The impact of HIV and AIDS on family well-being", in 2006 - "Changing families: challenges and opportunities", in 2007 - "Families and people with disabilities". Each year, messages from the UN Secretary-General are published on the current theme of International Day of the Family.
IN Russian Federation International Family Day has been celebrated since 1995. And 2008 by decree of the President of the Russian Federation was declared the Year of the Family.
