Autumn holidays cannot do without registration from beautiful leaves. Usually they are made without any problems - they took a template and cut up all sorts of leaves from colored paper. It looks great and bright, but this has already been done a hundred thousand times. How would you like to make the design with leaves more interesting, to add volume or something? And then I accidentally came across a picture on the Internet - wow!
This means they used accordion-folded paper. Yeah... but it’s unclear HOW they did it. The process itself is difficult to imagine.
Okay, with a mustache ourselves, we’ll come up with our own way.
Taking a closer look at the picture, I realized that it was not quite an ordinary accordion, each face has triangular shape, that is, it expands outward. Hmmm, no, I can’t cope with such difficulties right away. At first, at least from classic version You should try a smooth accordion. Well, I folded one sheet of A4 and realized that this was ridiculously not enough.

I had to glue two more of the same ones in series to get a convincing length.
A beautiful maple leaf has five blades and the outer ones do not look up, but are bent down, that’s bad luck. And here’s what we’ll do – we’ll assemble the accordion like a fan, hook it with a clothespin and straighten it out.
The fan turned out to be half a table. Now I will draw a leaf template.
But...how to trace something? I marked along the edges with a marker.
It was awkward to cut when folded, so I had to straighten it out.
The pattern of the sheet turned out to be something like a jagged fence or... kokoshnik. Since I was cutting along the folds, I had to be very careful.
But in general, the look of the maple leaf, when I reassembled it, turned out to be quite brave, and when I tinted it in a photo editor, it even looked autumnal.
I poured a decent puddle of Titan glue into the place where it was pinched with a clothespin, and by morning the leaf was attached very securely. This is the method I invented for making leaves from paper folded like an accordion, use it if you like.
