The second place in terms of the productivity of rose oil is, of course, the popular French southern Provence. It is popular for its so-called “vintage” varieties of roses, such as French (Gallic) rose (Rosa Gallica), Centifolia rose (Centifolia) and May rose (Rose de Mai, which is a mixture of the previous two varieties).
The exporters of this product are also Iran, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey and Germany - these countries are recognized as the most famous sellers of rose oil.

From the fresh petals of rosebuds, rose fragrant oil is obtained by steam distillation (steam distillation). It has a pale yellow color, sometimes with a greenish or olive tint, with a pronounced aroma of fresh roses. To obtain at least 1 kg of rose scented oil by this distillation method, 3,000 kg of rosebud petals are needed.

Rose perfume recipes

There are several ways to prepare your own perfumes.

1. Ingredients: 2 hybrid tea roses, 1 glass of water, 95% alcohol.
Preparation: bring water to a boil in a saucepan, then add the petals of two rosebuds. Boil rose petals for 5-10 minutes. (water should acquire a distinct smell of roses). To bring out and enhance the flavor of the product, remove the pot from the oven and pour in one tablespoon of alcohol. Pour the resulting fragrant liquid into a small specially prepared bottle. Use when the perfume has cooled down.

2. Ingredients: 1.5 cups crushed rosebud petals medical gauze; a small cup with a lid; two tablespoons of purified water; medium sized saucepan; small container with a stopper for perfume.

Preparation: soak prepared rose petals, previously washed and cleaned of dirt, in water. To do this, take a bowl and cover it with gauze so that the gauze goes beyond the edges of the dish, put rose petals on the gauze and fill them with water (the water should almost cover them). Then cover the bowl with a lid and let it brew overnight. In the morning, remove the lid, carefully remove the gauze with petals from the water and fold the gauze. Strain the petaled cheesecloth over a small saucepan, squeeze hard to obtain a rose-scented extract. After the resulting liquid, evaporate on a slow gas until one teaspoon of aromatic liquid remains somewhere. Allow the resulting product to cool, then pour into the prepared container for perfume and close tightly.

3. Ingredients: a liter jar of pink rose petals (both fresh and dried are suitable), 1 liter of purified water, 40 ml of organic vodka, six drops of rose essential oil, medical gauze.

Preparation: fill the jar with rose petals. Boil water to a boil in a stainless steel or enamel saucepan. Then add rose petals to the water so that the water covers them a little. Close the jar and let cool. Then add 40 ml of vodka to the mixture and cool without closing the lid. Strain through cheesecloth, tightly squeezing the fragrant liquid from our rose petals. Pour in rose essential oil, mix thoroughly. The essential oil must be introduced into alcohol very slowly, one drop at a time, stirring until they are completely mixed.
Let it brew for a day. Filter and store in a special container.

4. Ingredients: 1.5 shots of organic vodka; 0.25 l of eau de toilette with rose scent; rose essential oil - six drops; 25 drops of bergamot essential oil.
Preparation: Mix all the ingredients well and let it brew for three weeks in a dark and cool place. Filter the precipitate.

5.Ingredients: 35 drops of rose essential oil; 2 drops of essential oils of bergamot and lemon; 10 drops of essential oil of orange flowers - neroli; 5 drops of rosemary essential oil; half a glass of organic vodka.
Preparation: Thoroughly mix all the ingredients and let it brew for a day. Then filter with any filter and store in a special container tightly closed.
