Lip care in autumn and winter. Nourishing lip mask with honey: the use of honey for the beauty of the lips. Regular moisturizing of the skin of the lips

In winter, we face the problem of chapped lips. There are 6 reasons why this happens:

  • lack of vitamins;
  • environmental impact: strong wind, frost, scorching sun;
  • dry skin;
  • habit of licking lips;
  • smoking;
  • cosmetic allergy.

Why you shouldn't lick your lips

More often, cracks on the lips appear in the corners or on the lower lip. The upper lip is less prone to cracking, as the lower lip is usually licked. Human saliva contains two enzymes that greatly affect dry lips: amylase and maltase. When the saliva on the lips dries out, it evaporates the natural moisture, which leads to drier lips. Therefore, you can not lick your lips, especially in the wind and frost.

Lip Care

Lip care in winter involves cleaning, softening, moisturizing and applying protective agents.

Cleaning

To prevent dry lips, you need to do peeling once a week - remove dead body particles. Scrubs can be bought at the store or you can make your own. To make your own peeling, smear melted honey on your lips and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse the honey with warm water or eat it, and dry your lips with a damp towel to scrub away dead skin. You can not use the method if you have cracks or wounds on your lips.

Massage and masks

All you need is a soft toothbrush. After the scrub and lip massage, make a moisturizing mask.

You will need:

  • 1 tsp sour cream;
  • 1 tsp olive oil;
  • a few drops of lemon.

Mix everything thoroughly and apply on the lips. Hold for 10 minutes.

Brew chamomile tea, dip a cotton pad in it and remove the mask from your lips.

There are 3 ways to protect against dry lips:

  1. Coconut oil. It is easily absorbed into the skin. Serves as an emollient and moisturizer. To use, warm the oil in a water bath or microwave and apply warm to lips several times a day. Because of its luster, the oil can be used as a lip gloss.
  2. Cucumber. Contains 90% water to help restore moisture to lips. Cucumber contains ascorbic acid, which promotes collagen production. Cut the cucumber into circles and leave on the lips for 20 minutes.
  3. Balm. Use as often as possible. It contains herbs and natural oils that soften and nourish the skin of the lips.

The first balms were made in the Middle East. Cosmetics were prepared from the resin of the balsam tree - hence the name. The first lip balm is considered to be a product created in the 18th century. in Paris. It is made from balsam tree resin and rose essential oil. A few decades later, Charles Brown Fleet, MD, put on sale balms made in his personal laboratory. They were in the form of sticks and became popular among the female population of Europe.

The best hygienic lipsticks

Among the many companies producing hygienic lipsticks, a few of the best should be highlighted.

  1. Hurraw. Lipstick is suitable for girls and schoolgirls, as it contains natural substances that protect and moisturize lips. It does not contain ingredients of animal origin, so it is suitable for vegans.
  2. EOS. Lipstick moisturizes lips for a long time. It is in the form of a ball or stick. The taste is sweet and felt on the lips. Organic natural composition. Nice smell.
  3. Uriage. Well nourishes and softens the skin of the lips. Has no unpleasant smell and taste.
  4. Carmex. It happens in sticks, in balls and in tubes. Suitable in winter and for people with dry lips, as it moisturizes, heals cracks and stays on the lips for a long time. It is odorless and with the smell of menthol, cherry or strawberry.
  5. Yves Rosher. Has no color, contains natural moisturizing ingredients, protects the skin of the lips in windy weather.

Folk remedies for lip care

To soften and moisturize the lips, as well as quickly heal small cracks, use folk remedies.

Applesauce and Butter Mask

Combine the ingredients in equal amounts and apply on the lips for 15-20 minutes. Applesauce is best made from fresh apples without additives.

Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

Take equal proportions of cocoa butter and coconut oil - these are base oils, and heat them in a steam bath until a homogeneous liquid state. Remove from water bath and add liquid oils of your choice:

  • almond oil - to moisturize and nourish the skin;
  • avocado oil - relieves various dermatitis, including from the cold;
  • rosehip - regenerates the skin and saturates it with vitamin C;
  • calendula - has antiseptic properties, relieves inflammation.

Liquid oils should be added in a 4:1 ratio - 4 parts base oil to 1 part liquid.

If you want to make the balm colored, add beetroot juice to base oils in a ratio of 1:2 and keep in a steam bath for half an hour. Remove the container from the steam bath and place in cold water. Stir as the oils cool. When the oil cools, it will turn red.

Our lips are the first to suffer from frost. Their thin delicate skin is at risk. But we know how to maintain health and beauty even in the most severe cold.

To begin with, the skin of the lips must be properly prepared for extreme conditions for it. In the cold, lips are the most vulnerable part of the body. After all, if everything else can be covered with clothes and protected with accessories, then lips cannot. Of course, if you don't wear a ninja suit. In addition, the lips are periodically moistened: after all, we are not idols and cannot, as we were taught in childhood, keep our mouths shut all the time. So it turns out - peeling, weathering and even cracks.

Winter beauty plan

Home lip care in winter should be much richer and more varied than at other times of the year. So, it is necessary to exfoliate two or even three times a day. For a thorough removal of dead skin cells, arm yourself with a soft-bristled toothbrush that has not been used before.
As an exfliant, a facial scrub is suitable for sensitive or dry skin. It is better that the scrubbing particles are small and made of artificial biopolymers. Crushed apricot kernel is, of course, a very useful element, but it is too aggressive for lips.
Gently but thoroughly massage the skin with a toothbrush, treating every corner. Then wash off the "scrub" with warm water and oil your lips with a nourishing cream - its components will quickly be absorbed into the freshened skin of the lips.

under protection

Never go outside in winter without a special protective lipstick or balm. They should contain one of the nourishing and moisturizing components: jojoba oil, shea butter, olive, coconut or almond. This composition softens the skin of the lips and creates a special protective “film” on them, protecting the lips from the aggressive effects of low temperatures, as well as from snow and wind. In addition to products with oils, balms with chamomile or aloe perfectly nourish.
By the way, in winter, on the advice of experts, it is recommended to protect the lips not only when going outside, but even when indoors. Dry air heated by batteries is not conducive to skin health, so additional moisture will not hurt both in the office and at home.

Express Help

What to do if, contrary to the recommendations, you still did not save your lips, so that they are weathered? Or even worse - cracked? First, immediately discard decorative lipsticks and glosses. Colored pigments dry the skin, taking the last moisture from the cells. In no case do not mask the damage with foundation - it also dries the skin, and the situation will only worsen.
It is necessary to treat the lips with a cream with panthenol, which heals damaged skin faster than any means. In an extreme situation, creams from a children's first aid kit will be very effective: for example, Bepanten or Purilan (for skin care of a nursing mother). They instantly relieve irritation and very quickly “tighten” the cracks. Having learned from your mistakes, try not to bring your lips to such a state later: frequent weathering “erases” the natural contour of the lips, so even in a healthy state they will not look very attractive.

1. You should not forget about daily lip massage.

Of course, you will be surprised and think why the lips need a massage? But know that not only the body needs a massage, but also your lips. With massage, you can prevent the appearance of new wrinkles and prevent insufficient blood circulation. Massage should be done every day, for this you will need a toothbrush or washcloth. Make circular motions around the lips, lightly massaging them. Also lightly pat your lips with a brush. After massaging your lips, you need to lubricate them with a fat cream.

2. The main rule is moisturizing protection.

In the autumn before the onset of winter, our lips are exposed to wind, cold and sun. During this period, you are threatened with chapping of the lips, and premature wrinkles may appear. In order for the skin of your lips to be smooth, use special creams and lip balms. By moisturizing your lips, you will save yourself from many problems.

3. The rule is gymnastics to improve the shape of your lips.
Despite the fact that our lips are constantly in motion, lip gymnastics will not interfere with us at all. With the help of gymnastics, you can maintain an attractive shape of the lips. Once a week, draw in and out your lips, puff out your cheeks, and also move your jaws, alternating left and right. Such gymnastics for the lips should be done five to ten times.

4. The right choice of lipstick.

Any completion of makeup is considered to be the right lipstick. When choosing your lipstick, you should not forget about the color of your skin. Don't be afraid to use bright colors in winter. The main thing is that the color of the lipstick is combined with your makeup and your image.

5. Applying lipstick.

In order for your lipstick to look perfect on your lips, you must apply it correctly. Before applying lipstick, lubricate your lips with a protective cream. Thanks to the cream, you will prevent lipstick from rolling. Then apply lipstick on your lips, and then blot them with a napkin. Lightly powder your lips and then apply lipstick again and your lips will be irresistible.

6. Proper application of lip liner.

To give a beautiful contour to your lips, you can use a contour pencil. Thanks to it, you can visually increase your lips or reduce their volume. You need to apply a contour pencil from the middle of the lips and move towards the corners of your mouth. The liner should be one tone darker than your lipstick.

7. Applying lip gloss.

By choosing a lip gloss, you can make your lips more seductive. You can apply it over your lipstick. Lip gloss should be of high quality and expensive, only then it will not spread over your lips.

8. Plump lips.

Every woman dreams of sexy lips. If nature has not endowed you with plump lips, it's not scary. You can use a special lifting cream for the lips and you can use it to achieve the shapes you need, as well as smooth out the bumps on the lips.

9. Evening procedures.

Before going to bed, remove your lipstick with a makeup remover.

10. Care for your lips in winter.

After you have removed lipstick with cosmetics, you need to moisturize them. Once every 3 days, before going to bed, lubricate your lips with vegetable oil. Thanks to this procedure, you can keep your lips healthy and sexy in winter.

If you follow these 10 winter lip care tips, your lips will delight you and those around you.

Soft and sensual lips are the most attractive elements of a woman's appearance.

The skin of the lips is very thin and vulnerable, does not secrete oil, dries out very quickly and requires special care. Many blood vessels provide its sensitivity, they are close to the surface, which explains the sometimes quite heavy bleeding of the lips during injuries. Their condition often reflects the state of health of the whole organism. For example, a bluish tint that appears on the lips warns their mistress about possible diseases of the cardiovascular system or lungs.

Lips are most often subject to such changes in the cold season. In summer, they suffer due to the lack of natural protection from ultraviolet radiation. Due to the fact that there are no sebaceous glands on the lips, they begin to experience a lack of moisture faster than other organs of the human body, the lips lose their usual shape, and their appearance deteriorates.

Peeling, increased dryness, the appearance of small cracks - all this can be if the body has a metabolic disorder, and it suffers from a lack of the following vitamins A, E, K and B vitamins. Fever (herpes) may appear on the lips. Our first wrinkles often form in the area above the lips.

Every day we injure our lips in all possible ways. Our lips make about two thousand movements while we eat, smile and grimace, sometimes without even noticing it. We constantly expose our lips to sudden changes in temperature (while eating and drinking), lick them and bite them nervously in moments of stress, and also expose them to direct sunlight, cold winds and severe frost!

The regular appearance of jamming on the lips, cracks that do not heal for a long time, may indicate malnutrition. Be sure to take vitamins (vitamin B is especially important for lips) and drink more fluids! If the problem becomes chronic, then it's time to visit a gastroenterologist and a dermatologist. But this is an extreme measure, usually it is enough just to properly care for your lips.

Cleansing the skin of the lips

Make-up should be removed from the lips with a cotton pad moistened with a mild make-up remover or liquid cream, cosmetic cream or milk.

Once every one or two weeks, the skin of the lips needs a deeper cleansing - cleansing of dead cells, and, in other words, peeling.

Peeling has a beneficial effect, especially when peeling lips. The role of peeling can also be performed by massage of the skin of the lips, which is desirable to do every day before bedtime or in the morning. Lip massage is best done with patting movements, leading the hand from the corners of the mouth to the center of the lips. First massage the lower lip, then the upper. Then we proceed to massage the nasolabial triangle. With patting movements we go from the corners of the mouth to the wings of the nose. Thanks to this massage, the facial muscles relax, and the shape of the lips changes - their corners rise. It is worth doing such a massage twice a day - in the morning before makeup, and in the evening after removing makeup. Be sure to apply a fat cream on your lips after the massage. Peeling should be extremely soft, not traumatizing the soft skin of the lips. High-quality exfoliation will remove dead skin particles, give lips a healthy look, prepare them for applying lipstick and for passionate kisses. Before peeling, the lips should be slightly steamed. It is best to take a warm shower. Then apply a small amount of scrub to the skin with the index finger with slow massaging movements.

An example of a peeling that can be prepared at home:

Honey peeling

  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • A little olive oil

Mix all ingredients. Apply to lips and leave for a couple of minutes. Gently massage lips, rinse with warm water. After the lips are dry, you can apply olive oil on them.

Also good for lip peeling is granulated sugar (preferably brown). Just mix it with any oil - olive, almond, sesame or jojoba oil. And enjoy a delicious and healthy scrub.

Nutrition and moisturizing of the lips should be carried out at least as often as the skin of the face, including saturating the body with moisture from the inside. Moisturizing and nourishing is an important step in lip care. Be sure to stock up on hygienic lipstick or balm (it is better to buy at a pharmacy) and use it throughout the day. Hygienic lipstick will protect the skin of the lips from drying out, chapping, cracks and ultraviolet rays. Use it as a base for lip makeup, so they will be completely protected. Also apply a nourishing cream on the lips before going to bed so that the skin has enough time to absorb all the vitamins during the night. The action of the cream will be more pronounced if, when applying it, you massage your lips with your fingertips.

What should the right lip product contain?

Choosing the right product means a lot, so when buying a lip balm, hygienic lipstick or cream, carefully study their composition.

List of useful components for lips:

  • peptides enhance the action of collagen and hyaluronic acid, increase skin elasticity, and intensively moisturize it, hyaluronic acid also prevents moisture loss;
  • vitamins A, E, F, C contribute to the healing of wounds and cracks on the lips;
  • beeswax and natural oils moisturize and smooth the skin of the lips;
  • protein softens the skin of the lips;
  • solar filters protect against ultraviolet radiation;
  • medicinal herbs promote wound healing and prevent inflammation.

Lip care at home:

  • You can also take care of your lips with the help of natural remedies;
  • Cucumber juice is an excellent moisturizer;
  • Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, which contributes to the disappearance of cracks;
  • Sea buckthorn extract or sea buckthorn oil gives a pronounced healing effect;
  • Shea butter (shea butter) perfectly softens and nourishes, protects against moisture loss;
  • Macadamia oil has a softening, smoothing effect, prevents peeling;
  • Honey is a natural anti-inflammatory agent;
  • Aloe extract or juice moisturizes, has an anti-inflammatory effect;
  • Cocoa butter nourishes and tones;
  • Vegetable and butter oils soften the skin of the lips well.

Lip exercises

Comprehensive lip care is impossible without performing special exercises. This will help maintain the elasticity of the lips for a long time. Exercise your lips daily. There is nothing complicated in it:

  • Pronounce the vowels "a", "o", "u", "i", "s" in turn. The main thing in this exercise is to pronounce sounds diligently, and not through your teeth. Repeat 8-10 times.
  • Take a deep breath, filling your cheeks with air. Exhale half of the air slowly, then exhale sharply all that is left. Repeat 8-10 times.
  • Pull out your lips and imagine that you are blowing out a candle. Then relax your lips and repeat the exercise 8-10 times.
  • Move your lower jaw to the left and then to the right. Repeat 15-20 times.
  • Pull out your lips and imagine yourself as a fish for a few seconds. After that, repeat the exercise 15-20 times.
  • Stick your tongue out as far as you can for 3 seconds. After 1 second, repeat the exercise 4 more times.

Always use a quality lipstick. To remove lipstick, be sure to use special products. Do not try to wash it off with water or, even worse, with soap and water! A few words about lipstick storage. From the moment of production, it can be stored for about three years at an average temperature. Droplets, sometimes protruding on the cut of lipstick, are not a negative factor. This is not water, but the result of "sweating" fats in heat. You can give it its former appearance by putting it in the refrigerator. But an unpleasant smell, brittleness, tight texture, a feeling of dryness on the lips after applying it indicate that the lipstick has expired and should be replaced immediately with a new one. And the result will be flawless lips.

Wean yourself from the habit of biting and licking your lips. You injure the skin, micro-wounds appear on the lips, in which inflammation can begin.

To treat cracks, you can use an apple mask. Mix finely chopped apple with butter. Take the ingredients in equal proportions. Apply the mask on the lips, rinse with lukewarm water after 15 minutes. Apply heavy cream.

Mask with carrot juice. With this mask, deep and bleeding cracks can be cured. Mix equal parts olive oil and carrot juice. Apply the composition on the skin of the lips for 10 minutes. Remove excess with a paper towel.

almond balm

  • 0.25 cup almond oil
  • 12.5 g beeswax
  • 0.5 tsp honey
  • 0.25 teaspoon of aromatic oil - such as rose or vanilla

Heat almond oil in a water bath, add beeswax, stir thoroughly. Then add honey and aromatic oils (to your taste). Pour the finished mixture into small plastic boxes with a lid. Protective balm is ready!

Homemade natural lip balm:

Such a balm perfectly nourishes and softens the skin of the lips, heals cracks, protects from wind and cold.

Compound:

  • For 15 ml of the finished product (3 standard fondant with a lid or 1 large)
  • 3 gr beeswax
  • 3 gr shea butter,
  • 5 gr sea buckthorn oil,
  • 1-2 drops of vitamin A in oil (retinol acetate),
  • half a teaspoon of honey (liquid),
  • container for the product.

What to do:

  1. Wash fondants, dry, wipe with antiseptic or alcohol.
  2. Let the wax melt in a water bath. (It is better not to risk it in the microwave, as there have been cases of explosions when the dishes could not withstand the temperature, and it took a long time and carefully to clean the microwave from wax and glass.) Beeswax melts for quite a long time
  3. When the wax has melted, add Shea butter (Karite). And turn off the water bath. Shea quickly melts from hot wax.
  4. Next, add sea buckthorn oil, honey, mix thoroughly. We add vitamin A. Sea buckthorn will give our balm a rich orange color, and honey - a sweetish taste and aroma. In addition, honey perfectly moisturizes the lips, is a natural antiseptic.
  5. Mix and pour into prepared fondants. To make it more accurate, it is advisable to pour through a small funnel or syringe.
  6. We enjoy the result! In just half an hour, the balm will harden and you can use it. Thanks to the wax, it will not melt, so you can store it at room temperature or in your purse.

Wrinkles around the lips

With age, small wrinkles form around the lips, which are not very noticeable for some time. But they can get lipstick, and it looks very ugly. Wrinkles deepen over time and add a few extra years to your face.

The appearance of fine wrinkles can be prevented by massaging with an ice cube. It is best to carry out this procedure in the morning after cleansing the skin. In the evening, apply a fat cream to the skin around the mouth and massage with pinching and patting movements.

Oils, such as almond, coconut and olive, will also help in rejuvenating the skin around the lips. The most important component responsible for maintaining youth is vitamin E, which can be bought in capsules and added to your favorite face cream, paying special attention to the lip area when applied.

Keep in mind that beauty is made up of many factors. And none of them should be ignored. Everyday care of lips will keep their tenderness and attractiveness for a long time.

You need to take care of your lips as carefully as your eyelids: both here and there the skin is thin, delicate, completely devoid of fatty tissue, and therefore subject to aging.

How to care for lips in winter?

“The condition of the lips is one of the most important indicators of age,” explains Vladimir Vissarionov, Ph.D., dermatocosmetologist at the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology. - Already from the age of 25, they begin to gradually age: the red border turns pale, fine wrinkles appear, the skin becomes thinner. In order to slow down these processes, it is necessary to maintain normal blood microcirculation and be sure to protect the lips from ultraviolet rays: they are very susceptible to photoaging. By the way, lips can also be judged on health. If they are constantly cracking and sore, see a doctor - this could be a symptom of allergies, dermatitis, or a lack of B vitamins. If the lips dry and darken, this indicates dehydration.

In a word, lips really need to be groomed and cherished. How to choose the right hygienic lipstick, I already wrote in the article .

There are a few more important points for lip care in winter:

Always wear a lip balm with SPF, especially in winter;

Do not abuse lip gloss: it contains a lot of wax, which instantly freezes in the cold and dries out the lips;

Do not massage your lips with a toothbrush, as many magazines advise, it is too rough;

Add pumpkin, figs and avocados to your diet - lips love fiber;

Quit smoking! Tobacco stains and dries the lips.

And do not forget that lips need almost the same daily care program as facial skin, and the most natural cosmetics. Here are some great recipes.

How to take care of your lips:

1. Wipe your lips daily with a slightly chilled green tea bag: this will restore water balance and improve blood circulation.

2. Lips must be thoroughly cleaned of makeup. To do this, use a cotton pad slightly moistened with olive oil: it perfectly dissolves lipstick without injuring delicate skin.

3. Do a gentle exfoliation daily: massage your lips with crushed rose petals (take dry ones) or oatmeal mixed with yogurt (1: 1).

4. Honey is a proven lip scrub, but if you are allergic, use another recipe: grind in a coffee grinder or mortar for a tablespoon of sugar, olive oil and rose water. Gently massage your lips with this mixture two to three times a week.

5. Once a week, do a light acid peel: wipe your lips with the pulp of a tomato or a grape slice. But citrus fruits should not be used for these purposes - they will dry out delicate skin.

7. If you need a short-term effect of "lips-like-angelina", use this recipe: mix a teaspoon each of chopped dill, grape seed oil, cucumber oil and 2-3 drops of dill essential oil. Massage your lips with this mixture for two to three minutes, leave for another five minutes, then rinse with cool water. You will look like after a filler injection.

And finally, an unexpected piece of advice: if you want to keep the beauty of your lips as long as possible, think about your teeth. After all, the oval of the lower part of the face, and most importantly, the fullness of the lips, largely depends on them. If you raise the bite in time, make the plastic of the frenulum or place an implant, you can save the contour of the lips and prevent their corners from dropping.

In a word, if you intend to inject hyaluronic acid, first go to the dentist. And smear your lips with shea butter.
