It turned out that she is 48 and looks good because she eats in moderation, takes care of her skin and does simple exercises. But Galina told me one secret only after she found out that I collect and cosmetology, I am interested in home methods for the body.

According to this amazing woman, her “trick” is her homemade cucumber lotion, which she has been using for the past 30 years. I was surprised, why fool around yourself, if you can buy ready-made? “What are you, Ira, in stores and not lotion at all. So, alcohol with water is painted over. Galina warned me that only homemade cucumbers should be used for the lotion, which grew naturally, without the use of chemicals and growth stimulants. You can, of course, make any of them, but the result may be unexpected.

The fact is that harmful compounds accumulate in the pulp of the cucumber and safely pass into the alcohol solution. At best, we will wipe our face with an “explosive mixture” of nitrates and other “useful” chemicals, which can have a completely opposite effect: increased wrinkles, dryness and flaking, allergic reactions, etc.

But we are the right girls, we care about our beauty, so for the lotion we take only homemade natural cucumbers. Who can where: from trusted grandmothers in the market, at the dacha, from neighbor gardeners, etc. I take my own grown ones, because cucumber reigns in my beds from June to October. So,

Preparing Cucumber Lotion

3-4 unpeeled cucumbers rubbed on a coarse grater. The resulting slurry is carefully transferred with a spoon into a 0.5 liter jar (you can immediately put it into a bottle, but it’s so uncomfortable for me, it’s better to strain it later) and fill it with good vodka or diluted medical alcohol. Galina uses alcohol because she is a doctor and she always has this product. You need to dilute alcohol 1: 1, and if the skin is very dry, then take 1.5 cups of boiled cold water per glass of alcohol.

We close the jar with a nylon lid and put it on the windowsill on the sunny side (you don’t need to hide it in a dark place!). We insist 2 weeks, then we filter through cheesecloth into a bottle and put in the refrigerator. Everything. Now it is enough just to wipe the skin in the morning and in the evening, so that it is young for many years.

Pretty much everything). Judge for yourself: it whitens the skin of the face, improves its color and improves elasticity, gets rid of small age spots, helps lighten freckles, disinfects the skin and helps fight rashes and acne. Once in my youth, I constantly used it for wiping and was very pleased. But I bought that lotion in a store, in an ordinary Soviet haberdashery. Naturally, with my love for folk methods, I tried to make it myself, but what I got, to put it mildly, did not suit me. Probably because I insisted the product in the dark, and it did not have the long-awaited effect. But now we have a real recipe for making cucumber face lotion at home, and I don’t know about you, but I’m 100% satisfied.

To be honest, the cucumber theme hooked me so much that I dug up a couple more great recipes for problem skin. It turns out that they were in my notes for a long time, but as unnecessary, I undeservedly forgot them. Now I post them on the site, let them serve for the benefit of beauty.

Cucumber acne mask for oily skin

First, clean the face: steam the skin over the steam and wipe it with a cotton pad with soda. Then wash with warm water and apply acne cucumber mask.
