DIY autumn bouquet

The easiest way to create crafts on the theme "Autumn" is to make a bouquet using autumn leaves, fruit twigs (mountain ash, sea buckthorn, wild rose), branches with maple and ash seeds, chrysanthemums, ears of corn with grains, apples, grapes, mushrooms - all that, what a joy this time is.

A simple bouquet of autumn flowers will turn into an original composition thanks to the unusual “stuffing” of the vase: it can be filled with acorns, hazelnuts, chestnuts, honey locust seeds, pumpkin seeds, cones, etc.

Autumn compositions with pumpkin

Pumpkin is one of the main symbols of autumn, just as bright yellow, juicy and generous with gifts. After all, you can cook not only a lot of tasty and healthy dishes from a pumpkin, but also use it as a material for crafts.

Small pumpkins can be put on skewers in the same way as apples and decorate a bouquet with them. Or fill them with a vase mixed with, for example, rose hips.

Another original idea for using small pumpkins is to make candlesticks out of them. Cut the core of the pumpkin, put a small glass container there, and a candle in it. Decorate the "candlestick" with clusters of viburnum, mountain ash, sea buckthorn, wild rose.

And from a large pumpkin, excellent vases are obtained. Using a pumpkin as the basis for an autumn composition, you will achieve its 100% naturalness - after all, it will consist entirely of natural materials bestowed by the golden-haired autumn.

Remove the “hat” from the pumpkin, cut out the core. At the bottom, put a floral sponge moistened with water. Form a bouquet of autumn flowers and / or twigs of fruit trees, alternately inserting them into the sponge. At the end, cover the bouquet with a pumpkin "hat".

DIY autumn wreaths

The tradition of making wreaths on the door has long migrated from exclusively New Year's to "all-season". So, for Valentine's Day they make door wreaths with hearts and cupids, and for Easter - with decorated eggs, Easter chickens and hares, grass and flowers. Well, the autumn wreath on the door is traditional dry maple leaves, ears of wheat, cones and acorns, physalis flowers, dry twigs, fruits of fruit and berry trees and shrubs.

Autumn compositions in glass containers

If you have a beautiful wide glass, an empty round aquarium or a suitable vase at home, you can make a chic autumn composition with your own hands.

Take the natural material prepared in advance: cones, acorns, chestnuts, dried rosebuds, dry leaves - and arrange it in any order.

Glass containers make stylish candlesticks. Pour seeds or acorns on the bottom of a glass or vase, insert a candle into the center of the composition.

Another spectacular option for a candlestick: paste over a container with small maple leaves and put a round tea candle inside.

Do-it-yourself autumn topiary

A popular version of the autumn composition is the creation of a topiary, a pretty decorative tree. A blank for a tree is a base pot, a “trunk” (strong branch) wrapped with twine and a ball of crumpled paper wrapped with thread and pasted over with white paper towels (a pumpkin can serve as an alternative to the ball).

Chestnuts are a fertile material for working with young children themselves. You can make many different dolls,.

It is better to store in a cool place in boxes.

acorns

Oak fruits ripen in autumn, in September-October. collected in various shapes and sizes.

At the same time, their cups (pluses) on which they are held are also collected. Plushs are very often used separately from the acorn, as an independent natural material for various crafts.

Acorn cups and balls knitted from wool

How to knit even balls of wool, see the video Olga Skibina:

Acorn buns and Christmas bells

You can store them for a very long time, after washing and drying thoroughly. But why just keep stones when you can play with them with the whole family?)

For another way to apply an image to river or sea stones, see the video from You Can Do It Craft. You will be surprised how easy it is!

shells

You can collect shells on the banks of rivers, seas, lakes while relaxing with your children. Many of them are original in appearance, in shape - oval, comb-shaped, elongated, etc.

Boil them for a few minutes to free them from living organisms. Shells are washed with a small brush (you can use a toothbrush), after which they are dried, sorted by type and size. Stored at any temperature.

You can also clean the shells in a solution of whiteness and water at a rate of 1: 1. The top layer will disappear after a while, leaving the shell with a nice shiny top.

Animal figurines are made from large shells.

Small shells make wonderful applications, garlands:

Shells can be used not only as the main material, but also as an additional decor (bird wings, dog ears, flower petals, etc.)

Rules for the storage of natural materials

Crafts made from natural materials with your own hands will be flawless if, after collecting, drying, pre-treatment, you properly store these natural gifts. To do this, you must adhere to certain rules.

  1. A dark, cool, and well-ventilated area is the best place to store natural materials.
  2. You can buy plastic containers for storing each type of material; use cardboard boxes from shoes, tea, sweets; take ordinary glass jars with a screw cap. For seeds, as well as for beads, it is better to have a container with many compartments.
  3. Dried flowers are fragile and break easily, so they are placed in a tight box or container. Petals are stored separately from flowers. Flowers with a stem can be stored in a vase.
  4. Prepared leaves are also brittle. You can store them in large books. Also, for safety, put them in signed candy boxes, grab a little tape so that they do not accidentally open.
  5. Seashells are placed in glass jars or plastic containers with a wide neck so that they do not crumble.

Additional tools for crafts made from natural materials

To create a beautiful craft from natural materials, you will need additional tools and materials.

It can be:

  • colored paper;
  • cardboard;
  • skin scraps;
  • scraps of fabric;
  • bird feathers;
  • Styrofoam;
  • plasticine;
  • wire;
  • PVA glue, "Moment";
  • gouache;
  • stain;
  • varnish etc.

Paper very often used as an addition to natural materials. Children, bending, gluing it, make the work much more interesting.

Plasticine fasten separate parts of simple toys at the initial stage of work. It is not very durable, but as a supplement it is often used in kindergarten and elementary school.

From wire most often they make the frame of a toy, the connection of its parts. Copper wire diameter 0.29-0.35 mm - soft, flexible and durable - the most comfortable. And for the frame, a wire of a larger diameter is used - 1-1.5 mm.

Threads it is better to take thick, multi-colored ones (No. 10).

Glue it is better to take white PVA, BF, etc. However, in kindergarten it is better to use PVA glue.

They also use foil, pebbles, pits from cherries, and bristles.

Additional material is best stored in a small box with cells for each type of material.

The use of additional material depends on the idea, the skill of the children, the degree of development of the imagination! Offer your options, but rely more on children's intuition and desire.

It is also additionally necessary to have certain tools for making crafts from natural material:

  • artistic scissors;
  • awl;
  • jigsaw;
  • tweezers;
  • pliers and wire cutters;
  • sewing needles;
  • brushes for glue and paints;
  • cotton cloth for wiping off adhesive residue.

Scissors for children should be with blunt ends, small, with rings convenient for a child's hand.

Awl you need to take from a durable material with a handle length of about 6 cm, a diameter of about 2 cm, a stabbing part - 3.5 cm

Needle need a large sewing machine. It must be kept in a needle case with a thread threaded into it.

Attention! Only adults use pliers, pliers, drills!

To draw the contour of the part to be cut out, a simple pencil. For example, dresses, hats for a doll, etc. It is better to take a soft pencil (2M).

Tassels(soft for drawing, harder for glue). It is better to buy squirrel brushes (No. 4 and 6). For glue take brushes with hard bristles.

Stack- a tool necessary for surface treatment of clay or plasticine. The length of the stack for children is about 12 cm.

Crafts from natural material for kindergarten

Toddlers are very fond of turning chestnuts and plasticine into toys in their hands that they can play with. Crafts made from natural material for kindergarten are not very complicated, so any child can do it with the help of an adult. Sometimes they are made from fruits and vegetables, but most often they are applications from leaves and animals from cones and acorns.

Crafts from leaves and maple "helicopters"

The easiest and most accessible work even for kids is the application of leaves. If this is the first time you are making a composition with your child, offer him a picture that will serve as a template. Do not rush to do everything yourself. Invite the child to choose the leaves as desired, so that the work turns out to be similar to the sample. This will develop your child's creativity.

Application material:

  • colorful leaves;
  • thick sheet A-4;
  • brushes for glue;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • sample.

To make a simple composition, you need even, dry leaves. Put them under a press or in a book. In two days the material is ready. Cut out suitable parts with scissors and lay them out on a piece of paper.

Now you can glue. First the background and bottom layers, and then the finer details. For example, if you want to make an elephant, then first make the body and head out of the leaves, and then glue the trunk, tail, legs. If there are not enough eyes, then they can be drawn with a marker or made from tree seeds.

It is not necessary to do everything according to a template. You can come up with a picture yourself and create an original composition of leaves.

Use colored paper, felt-tip pens, paints as an addition, so your applications will be even more interesting.

Along with the leaves, “helicopters” from maple are also ideal as a basis for crafts made from natural material for a kindergarten. Just look at this miracle!

Fairy wings from maple seeds

Dragonflies from maple helicopters

Now you are convinced how beautiful and original leaf applications can be. Use these ideas for leisure activities with children.

Simple master classes on creating children's crafts from acorns and cones

At the end of summer, acorns begin to ripen, and they make wonderful crafts made from natural material for a kindergarten or school. They are well preserved, and on long autumn evenings, together with children, you can do a pleasant and useful thing that develops the fine motor skills of the baby's hands, imagination and perseverance.

The most common acorn crafts are animals and various little men. From toothpicks, matches, thin twigs, you can easily make legs, handles, horns and other small items. An adult needs to help the children poke holes in the acorns.

To attach small parts, you can use a glue gun, Super Moment glue, but only adults should do this. And it is safest for the guys to fasten the parts with the help of plasticine.

Fly agarics from acorns are even easier to make! To paint acorns, you need to remove the hats from them, and after the paint has dried, glue them in place.

Acorns are very beautiful on their own, and if they are also painted with acrylic paints or nail polish, then such crafts will decorate any home.

And from the hats painted with silver paint, you can make an original decoration for the Christmas tree. The process of creating such an eco-toy is quite simple: we closely glue acorn caps onto a foam ball (you can take an old Christmas ball). And sparkled new.

We found another video for you, where Niki Junior tells what a wonderful craft will turn out from leaves, cones, twigs and a plastic bottle. Look, you will learn a lot.

Good afternoon - we continue theme of autumn crafts for interior decoration. And today we will talk about compositions and lamps. pumpkin… about elegant flower-fruit compositions with wicker baskets... about how you can make beautiful autumn flowers with your own hands fillings in transparent vases... and I will give a large selection of compositions with candles and candlesticks decorated in autumn style. In short, there will be many interesting interior ideas for creating an autumn atmosphere in the house, for decorating a wedding in the fall.

Autumn compositions - crafts with PUMPKINS.

Pumpkin is, one might say, a SYMBOL OF AUTUMN. And pumpkin crafts for interior decoration can be very different. You can glue a white pumpkin with yellow autumn leaves (if they do not sit well on PVA glue ... you can plant them on acrylic lacquer) ... Or you can stick the leaves on - and just apply paint on them - and attach to the barrel of the pumpkin AS A STAMP ... and it will remain on the pumpkin peel leaf print.

Or you can do a PUMPKIN CARVING. To do this, you need to ... attach an autumn leaf to a pumpkin - draw around the contour with a pencil ... then cut out the contour with a knife - and peel off the skin inside the contour - you get a beautiful CARVED PATTERN on a pumpkin (as in the left photo below).

You can put a few pumpkins on the table and braid them with branches of a berry bush ...

Or you can make beautiful LIGHTS from a pumpkin. To do this ... you need to cut off the lower part (bottom) of the pumpkin ... through this cut, cut and take out all the pulp of the pumpkin - so that only the walls remain.
Then we need cut round holes– to make it work well – it is best to use metal tube with thin sharp walls and a hammer. We apply a cut of such a metal pipe to the side of the pumpkin from the INSIDE - (that is, we put the pipe inside the pumpkin ... and the pumpkin should lie on the side that we are going to punch). And now we apply an iron tube to the barrel - and knock on it with a hammer (or press hard) - and the sharp edges of the tube make holes in the pumpkin side (just like a cookie cutter makes holes in rolled out dough).

You can choose the patterns at your discretion ... if you take tubes of different diameters, you will get holes of different sizes.

If miniature decorative pumpkins have grown on your beds, then you can make a beautiful wreath composition with asters, cones and bright ribbons from them (as in the photo below).

If the pumpkin does not have a convenient tail to tie a ribbon- then you can drive a construction dowel with a metal eye into a pumpkin ... or just a long nail bent into a loop

To get such a bent stud- you must first drive it 1 centimeter into the board - and then hit it with a hammer at a crooked angle - so that the nail bends - and then remove it from the board and drive it into a pumpkin at an angle - and you get a metal grip for tying the ribbon.

YOU CAN DO IT HERE such a wreath from small pumpkins and patissons (photo below).

For such a wreath you need metal rim(quite strong) - to the rim for volume, you can screw dry branches in a circle- winding them with wire.

And then with the same wire and attach the pumpkins. For this each fruit must be perforated - from one side with a through hole (like a button)- so that there is an entry hole for the wire and a hole for the exit for the wire 3-7 cm from it.

To get such an "underground passage" - you just need pierce a gourd with a bent nail... a nail bent in the form of an arch - will enter the pumpkin - and exit immediately next to the entrance hole. And we will get such an EAR as a button. We will thread the wire through this eye, and the pumpkin will turn out to be strung on it like a mushroom - and it can be tied to the wreath base.

Autumn compositions - IN BASKETS.

Ordinary wicker baskets can also participate in the creation of autumn interior crafts.

Inside the basket you can make an AUTUMN BOUQUET. Buy an "oasis" in a florist's shop (this is such a material similar to green sponge plasticine) - you stick flowers into it and they do not wither for weeks, feeding on moisture from this "oasis sponge".

Or can you do DRY compositions autumn floristry in a basket - or even take three baskets of different sizes and make a beautiful autumn pyramid out of them from cones, rose hips, dry ornamental herbs, velvet sage leaves and coniferous twigs.

If your basket is old and shabby, and an oak tree is actively fruiting in the neighborhood, then you can pick up acorns ... arm yourself with a glue gun(sold in hardware stores costs 3 or 5 dollars) and pave the entire basket, paste over the bodies and hats of acorns. You will get a beautiful autumn craft as in the photo below.

GIFTS OF AUTUMN IN A DISH - as interior compositions.

Or you can not be too cunning and just make a fruit-leaf display in a beautiful bowl. pumpkins for glitter rub with paraffin(spread a candle) and then polish with a dry cloth to a glossy finish..

Bright fruits of persimmon and silvery velvet leaves of garden wormwood... or other plants have the same velvety gray leaves - for example cleaner, cineraria- they look very nice in dry autumn bouquets and compositions.

And you can make the dish itself for a fruit composition from cut (half horizontally) pumpkin.

You can make an autumn composition of small pumpkins, garden flowers and seed umbels of plants.

But you can think even more interesting ... and create a small fruit masterpiece... Glue rhinestones on ordinary ruddy pears (ordinary glue rhinestones that are sold in stalls ... they already have a sticky surface on the back and are easy and quick to stick on. By the way, this table decoration looks good for decorating a wedding in nature.

Artistic compositions - from natural and plant material.

You can make beautiful autumn outfits from stones, dry snags and flowers.

You can make a real autumn composition from a carved pumpkin ... with birch stump and toy deer. Place it on the coffee table and let it please the eyes of you and your children ... Let them play in this cozy pumpkin house... it's such a great childish treat. And by the way, the children themselves can take part in the manufacture of such a composition from a hollow pumpkin - let them decide how to equip the house

You can also buy it in the gift shop. little decorative birds... they are made from papier-mâché and feathers - they look like real ones. And make a beautiful composition of autumn leaves, berries and birds sitting on a perch. Children will be happy to take part in such a craft. How to make such a bird's corner with my own and children's hands, I told in great detail and step by step in the article "AUTUMN CRAFTS for children (to school and kindergarten) - 15 best master classes"

And next to it, you can put a beautiful composition with a birdhouse on an aged coffee table ... an autumn bouquet of autumn twigs and a beautiful dry vine.

Or you can make an autumn Ekibana - beautiful on a platter lay out rows of dry herbs, branches, rosebuds, apples, and perennial inflorescences. To keep rose buds fresh for a long time, they can be stuck into pieces of a spongy “oasis” soaked in water.

AUTUMN FILLINGS - made from natural materials to decorate the table.

And you can make bulk Ekibans ... we take several transparent vessels and pour different natural materials into each of them ... chestnuts, acorns, cereal stalks. Somewhere you can insert candles.

Rose hips and poppy boxes look beautiful ... especially if they are sprinkled with dry perennial flowers.

It is also beautiful if you surround the glass with carved autumn leaves and tie it with twine.

The size of the overall composition depends on your idea and the amount of natural materials and suitable glass containers.

Or you can just make a small cozy table setting - with autumn branches ... and poured into a vase of cones ... beautiful bunches of leaves and candles to match the overall composition. A wonderful autumn still life that just asks for a picture.

And here is an example of pouring into small containers with autumn bouquets of flowers and herbs.

AUTUMN PICTURES - from leaves, acorns, branches, etc.

You can also make wall compositions from natural materials ... These can be mat panels

Or three-dimensional paintings from bright colored leaves filled with varnish (photo below).

I told more about how to make such a picture in the article.

You can dry the leaf and insert it between two glasses- under one frame.

Autumn compositions WITH CANDLES for interior decoration.

Also, the autumn composition on the table will be decorated candles from pumpkins ... or from apples. In the evening, such lighting will give our autumn still life artistic lighting, where each color will sparkle with glare of shades that sway when the candle flame fluctuates. .

Or like this autumn candlesticks which can be made from empty glasses. If the glasses are tied with leaves, sprigs of berries and tied with a rope. Very beautiful.

You know ... I found so many ideas for autumn candle decoration - that I have to separate them into a separate article and give a link to it ... here "Autumn compositions WITH CANDLES - 28 photos of beautiful ideas"

AND MORE...

And I also have other articles on the autumn decoration of your home ...

As well as a series of articles on new crafts from various natural materials.

6. In pumpkins for compositions, you can drill or cut holes, creating a perforation effect. It will look especially good in candlesticks.

Autumn compositions in vases

To make autumn compositions from natural materials with your own hands, you will need base vases: these can be not only ordinary vases, but also plates, small buckets, jugs, wooden bowls. You can also make the basis for the composition from a vinyl record melted in the oven.

If there is only an ordinary glass vase or jar in the arsenal, then it is better to decorate it first.

Take thin wrapping paper (preferably translucent), liquid household starch and a brush

Coat the vase with starch and cover with a layer of wrapping paper, then glue dry leaves on it, glue another layer of paper on top. This can be done a few more times. The bottom line is that the contours of the leaves show through the wrapping paper. Dry the vase and spray with hairspray to make the vase shine.

How to make autumn compositions from natural materials?

1. If you are making an autumn composition with your own hands on a flat plate or vase, use an oasis (for fresh flowers), foam plastic or any other dense material into which you can stick flowers and twigs as a base.

2. When gluing leaves, apply glue not only to the stem, but also to the bottom of the leaf - otherwise it will not stick.

3. If you use wooden skewers or wires with elements strung on them - these should be mountain ash, acorns, cones, nuts, rose hips, etc., in general, something that does not mold if the shell is damaged on the first day.

4. Do not forget to use spikelets and blades of grass, and they will also look perfect in compositions - this is a great alternative to fresh flowers.

5. Do not pour water into natural baskets, such as pumpkin or zucchini, put a pot or jar inside.

Also, as an autumn decor, you can make a topiary from leaves and other natural materials or a plate of leaves using the papier-mâché technique.

We wish you a great autumn: and even if it rains outside the window, it will be warm and cozy in your house!
