Liquid stones on nails: revealing the secrets of a “precious” manicure. Liquid stones on nails. Photo of manicure Cat's eye, French, rubbing, casting The effect of natural stones

Rhinestones and natural stones look great on nails, but as impressive as they are, they are also inconvenient and impractical, the sharp edges cling to everything, and the stones themselves quickly fall off. What should ladies do who strive for beauty and comfort at the same time? Get acquainted with the new direction of nail design - “liquid stone on nails”.

The new technique was developed by Russian designer Ekaterina Miroshnichenko and combines three manicure technologies: gel extensions, casting and gel sculpting. By the way, if you wish, you can learn the “liquid stones” method from the author of the direction, and even purchase material for covering your nails.

What are the advantages of the new method:

  • Design suitable for any type of nails: for both extensions and natural ones. The only difference is in the first stage of starting work.
  • Durability of manicure: liquid stones, unlike rhinestones, will delight you from a week to a month; the stones will not leave your nails.
  • Modern color palette makes it possible to create on your nails the likeness of any natural gem, be it topaz, emerald or garnet. It is possible to come up with your own stone that does not exist in nature. The painted mineral can be transparent or shimmer like mother-of-pearl.
  • If the technology seems very complicated to you, always you can use ready-made polymer stickers. And with time and practice, the design you make yourself will be no different from the work of a master.

Polymer compositions make it possible to create a variety of stones that look natural. You can make an imitation of a dim emerald, sapphire, turquoise with veins, malachite, quartz, opal, rich ruby or delicate crystal.

Manicure “liquid stones” and basic materials for its creation

So, what do we need to create a liquid stone manicure?

The most important thing is high-quality gels:

  • colored gel for French manicure. We will use it to form the main color of the manicure;
  • gel protection without dispersion;
  • to draw the outline you will need art gel or acrylic paint, which should be without dispersion, with the ability to leave a foil imprint on it;
  • stained glass art gel, the tone of the future stone will depend on it;
  • very thick sculpting gel.

Important

It is best to choose the color scheme of the design at the stage of selecting materials; perhaps it is worth drawing the future design on paper. This will help you understand whether the selected colors are compatible. It will be a shame if the manicure is finished and you don’t like the color scheme.

Now about the tools used to perform “liquid stones” manicure.

We need three types of brushes: an angular one, we will use it to create a French manicure, a “hair” for the contour and a base brush, we will need it to apply all the main layers.

It’s better if it’s a special tear-off foil, but if you don’t have one, you can use regular foil.

The tone of the foil should be chosen depending on the color of the stone that you will paint. And finally, a UV lamp, without it the process of drying the gel will be very long with an unguaranteed result: your stone may not harden.

Nail design liquid stones: how to choose a design according to your wishes

Liquid stone nail design is done on natural and extended nails. The beginning of creating such a manicure depends on what kind of nails you have.

If they are natural, they must be coated with gel polish before starting the main procedure; if they are extensions, you can start creating the chosen design right away.

The new manicure is universal, you just need to choose the right pattern to suit your look. For a business style, a French manicure with small stones is suitable; an evening outing allows for a fantasy design, perhaps with massive “stone brooches” or “rings”. It is better for the bride to choose a liquid stone nail design in soft pastel colors with imitation rock crystal or pearls.

A very impressive manicure with transparent gel stones. A manicure in the “liquid stone” style can be combined with any color in your wardrobe.

The use of licensed materials is a guarantee of success, specially designed for the “liquid stones” manicure technique. The market offers products from several reliable manufacturers: E.M. I., CNI, Y.R, Nogtika.

The MagicNail brand offers a lighter design option - the use of special holographic stickers. This manicure looks no less impressive than one made using the author’s technology.

How to make liquid stones on nails: step-by-step instructions

You have prepared everything, chosen a design, selected colors, decided which mineral will decorate your nails, you can get to work.

note

It is important not to overdo it, if your nails are natural, do not damage the nail plate, but the gel from the extension can be cut off almost completely.

Step 1
So, before making liquid stones on your nails, let’s treat the nail plate with a file, otherwise the result may be unpredictable, the design may blur. After treatment, the natural shine of the nails should disappear

Step 2
Then the surface of the nail should be degreased. You can use a special product; if you don’t have it, use alcohol. Let your nails dry thoroughly. Now let's start pre-coating the nails with gel.

Step 3
If you have extended nails, the thickness of the gel can be any; if you have natural nails, the gel coating should be as thin as possible. Dry your nails under a UV lamp for a few minutes.

Step 4
The nails are dry and need to be wiped with an alcohol-containing solution to remove the sticky layer. We begin to form a drawing. The first thing to do is the outline. This is one of the most important stages; a poorly executed outline will not hold the drawing and it will spread.

Step 5
We will need special glue. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have it, clear nail polish will do. So: we apply the contours of the selected design to the nail plate, glue foil on top, the color of which is in harmony with the selected “gem”. We wait a little for the foil to stick, and with a sharp, quick movement we tear off the foil.

Step 6
Drop a little acrylic paint into the middle of the “frame”; you can also use gel, but it needs to be dried under a UV lamp. The color of the paint or gel should be in harmony with the color of the frame outline. Now we need to shape the stone itself. We will use structuring gel or acrylic materials.

Important

The stones must be done strictly one after another, even if they are placed on one nail. Otherwise, the gel will blur and you will have to start all over again.

You need to finish your manicure with a final coating; the choice of coating depends on the effect you want to achieve. You need to fix the design and make the stones sparkle, then choose an ordinary transparent varnish.

Do you want to achieve the effect of stones behind glass?- use a special finishing coating. A transparent gel will also look good, but after applying it, be sure to use a UV lamp.

So the “liquid stones” manicure is ready, a little imagination and experience, and your nails will always be stylish and unique.

An elegant manicure is a great way to emphasize your femininity and delicate taste. Nowadays, liquid nail stones are used to create stylish nail art, which help create an incredibly beautiful design, as can be seen in the photo below.

What are liquid stones

In most cases, we associate marigold stones with rhinestones. But bulky and heavy rhinestones and natural minerals are inconvenient to use, and they also fall off quite quickly (especially from your nails). Liquid stones or casting is the latest technique that is very often used in gel nail extensions. This technology has the following dignity:

  1. Beauty. With a thoughtful design, you can enjoy a lovely shine on your nails in all the colors of the rainbow;
  2. Relative ease of implementation. With a little practice, you can recreate chic nail art at home. If casting does not work out, then as a last resort you can buy ready-made polymer pebbles;
  3. Durability. The technique is carried out only when using gel polish, thanks to which such a manicure lasts from a week to a month, depending on your habits or lifestyle.

At their core, they are polymer particles that are created either from a gel or from a special varnish. But in addition to these materials, you also need foil to create spectacular patterns and an ultraviolet lamp to make the gel dry faster.

Technique, how to do it right

Photo - Liquid stones on nails

To make a manicure casting, you will need:

  1. Manicure foil. Sold in any cosmetic store;
  2. UV lamp. In principle, you can do without it, it will simply speed up the process significantly, in addition, with the help of rays, the gel becomes brighter and more beautiful;
  3. Varnishes of the desired shade;
  4. Thin brush, hair;
  5. If necessary, other patterns, ribbons, beads or sparkles.

Instructions“liquid” manicure step by step:

  1. You need to prepare your nails, clean them of old polish, trim them and give them the desired shape;
  2. After this, you can do a French manicure, but it looks most chic with liquid stones. To do this, apply a base layer of beige varnish to the nail, then stick a white stripe on the desired length of the edge and paint it with white varnish;
  3. If you use foil, then stick it on the outline with the glossy side, dry it and tear it off sharply. Then you will get a gold or silver manicure. If you plan to leave it like that, skip points 4 and 5;
  4. Next, draw designs on the nail using the desired color. These can be simple abstract lines. The best contrast is obtained when using black. You need to draw fairly dense lines of patterns so that when they dry, they become convex and gain volume. Dry your nails under the lamp;
  5. Now draw lines in the dark outline using the colors of the future liquid stone. We recommend using shades close to the chosen palette. Let's say turquoise, light blue and light blue;
  6. When you paint the entire surface of our stone, you need to cover it with a transparent sculptural gel to give it a voluminous shape. Many craftsmen use pearlescent colors for a stronger shine. All that remains is to dry your nails under the lamp.

You may not get a perfectly even drawing the first time, but after a few experiments everything will work out. In any case, you can buy liquid stones for natural or extended nails, their price ranges from $3 per set. These are special polymers that have a hard base, but when applied to the nail they take on a soft shape. After gluing it, you just need to dry your hands under ultraviolet rays and strengthen it with transparent gel polish.

Adviсe and pictures for inspiration:

  1. Draw curved lines rather than straight ones; they look more beautiful;
  2. Try to work as follows: for one line - one contour stroke, and one control;
  3. Experiment with the colors of liquid stones for nails, but at the same time, do not paint the “stones” in contrasting shades - it may not turn out aesthetically pleasing;
  4. Black color is an optional condition for creating an outline. Gold or silver help create the effect of inlaid stones into the nail plate, and bright and fresh colors add a little extravagance to the image.

The author's technique of liquid stones on nails was created quite recently by Ekaterina Miroshnichenko. This design appeared for the first time in 2013, but quickly gained popularity among fashion manicure lovers. The name may be associated with rhinestones or ordinary designs, but this method of application has nothing to do with painted or glued stones.

What are liquid stones in nail design

This name is fully justified, because a print created in this way, with its color, shape, and tints, resembles a real precious or semi-precious piece of jewelry. Liquid stones on nails are a voluminous nail design with splashes, created using a gel base and regular stained glass paint. They call it liquid because during molding they use a gel, which then hardens under the UV rays of a lamp. It is important to know that this is a design for extended nails, because polymer materials will not hold tightly to a natural plate.

How to make liquid stones with your own hands

You can make this creative design at home if you have a manicure lamp, paints, and a shiny base. At first glance, it is difficult to make drops of the desired shape, but you should first try the technique in practice. You can imitate any minerals - emerald, jasper, coral, ruby, sapphire, chrysolite and many others - it all depends on the designer’s imagination. How to create the desired mineral? Glitter and color are obtained by combining foil or glitter varnish with the addition of a drop of paint. Try your combination and you will definitely like the result:

  • silver glitter, green vintage gel – emerald;
  • silver mica, blue varnish – turquoise;
  • golden glitter, base combined with red pigment - ruby.

Performing this technique does not require much experience. Once you understand how to combine colors, you can come up with different designs: a bright oriental, delicate velvet flower, sand or a simple black nail design. The technique is used as an independent nail art and as a French nail design with a pattern. The latter is the most popular among modern fashionistas because it combines the restraint of lines and the luxury of jewelry.

Step-by-step instructions for casting nail designs

Nail designs with foil are the most diverse, unusual and include a technique with liquid stones. There are only 2 conditions: long and extended nails. They create casting using varnish, and the mineral itself is created with gel, mixing it with stained glass paints or ready-made colors, applying it to a base with foil, glitter or mica. The shape is often made oblong; it visually stretches the plate and makes the fingers more graceful.

Gel

This step by step gel tutorial includes some basic steps. At the very beginning, you need to work on building up, and then start casting. To create such a complex-looking manicure, you need:

  1. Carry out the extension procedure. Prepare the plate, i.e. apply the base. This can be a French manicure of any color or just a plain polish.
  2. We apply the drawing, and specifically the edging of the desired shape. We do casting - we print foil on this edging.
  3. The next step is applying foil to the base of the mold. We select the gloss color for the future stone, paint it with the base and transfer it in the same way, pressing lightly. The base can also be mica.
  4. The main thing left is to design the form. Mix a drop of transparent gel with paint (stained glass) or add pigment, apply the resulting ball on a brush to the prepared edging, form a drop, and dry it.
  5. We enjoy the result. By combining different shines and colors, you can get an imitation of a large number of jewelry and any nail design with stones.

Stained glass gels

With the help of stained glass gels they create transparent French aquarium-effect nail extensions, and they also use the liquid stone technique on nails. With it, the simple procedure for creating minerals becomes even more accessible: the technique is performed according to the same scheme, only after applying a shiny base (foil), a drop is formed and polymerized under the light of a lamp. The effect is no worse, and the work is much easier. If you add another drop of black paint to the stained glass window, you create the effect of glass with shimmers and shadows.

How to work with foil

Another new product for craftsmen and fashionistas is foil. It can be found in any specialty store or ordered online. This material is cheap, but helps to realize stunning multi-colored ideas, such as stained glass designs. Craftsmen work more with transfer or tear-off material; it has a coating that is easily transferred upon contact with varnish. When working with other types, you have to cut out patterns by hand. To work you will need:

  • gel polish, colored and transparent;
  • thin brush for drawing sharp edges;
  • transfer foil;
  • lamp;
  • top coating.

The contours of the future pattern for casting with varnish are applied to the finished manicure (matte finish or French). The transfer foil is pressed over the varnish. Gold or silver casting is easy to achieve; all that remains is to secure it with a top coat and dry it under a lamp. They apply it under the stones in the same way, only they don’t cover it with a top coat, but immediately apply the stained glass gel into the edging. Working with this technique is easier than doing, for example, artistic modeling, and learning will be enjoyable. if you watch the master class below.

When choosing a fashionable manicure, you need to pay attention to the liquid stone nail design, a photo of which has flooded the Internet. Women tend to want to decorate themselves.

Stones on your nails!?

To indicate their originality, women use beautiful clothes, complex hairstyles, bright makeup and unique nail designs. Applying liquid stones to the nail plate is the best solution for creating a bright, unique image.

The idea of luxurious design of the nail plate belongs to professional stylist Ekaterina Miroshnichenko, one of the authors of modern nail techniques.

Beautiful liquid stones are obtained on nails using a polymer substance that looks three-dimensional, three-dimensional, slightly convex. Polymerization completes the process.

Decorating liquid stones by casting

Liquid stones on nails are reproduced in combination with another, no less magical technique - casting. This is an ornament similar to patterns from jewelry (rings, bracelets). It adds solemnity, aristocracy and completeness to the manicure.

Casting is applied both to the extended nail plate and to the natural one. You can use gel polish or regular one. Transfer foil for the design is applied to the outline and allows you to perform the technique in different shades.

To perform an impeccable casting technique that will complement liquid stones with a unique decor, you need to follow the instructions:

  • prepare nails for manicure;
  • apply the pattern of the future casting with black gel polish and dry it in a UV lamp until a sticky dried layer forms;
  • With the matte side, press the golden foil tightly onto the gel with your finger and sharply tear it off so that the shiny layer remains on the gel;
  • dry the gel in a UV lamp.

The foil is also transferred to a special glue or simple varnish. But the main disadvantage of this method is the haste. You need to have time to apply a beautiful pattern and attach the foil to the wet coating. Therefore, the masters choose either gel polish or a simple quick drawing.

With the help of casting you can depict any ornament. These can be floral motifs, animal prints, butterflies, shells, but stained glass patterns look more harmonious with liquid stones. They frame the gemstone and look rich and luxurious.

Advice! When creating gold casting, the foil must be gently pressed and sharply torn off until the desired result is achieved. For depth of color, it is advisable to use dark paint as a base.

New items in nail design “liquid stones”

When choosing a “liquid stones” nail design, it is important to choose the right color. Green gives an imitation of an expensive emerald, blue – exclusive turquoise, red – a noble ruby, yellow – refined amber and others.

The main advantage of liquid stones is beauty and style. Nails look like they are covered in jewelry. Stone drops resemble expensive oriental embroidered fabric. Also, the decor does not cling to clothes and does not break off, as often happens with modeling.

Liquid stones will perfectly complement a wedding jacket, giving the image solemnity and luxury. It is better to match the color of the stone to the color of the bride’s eyes. There is no need to overload your manicure with a large number of decorative elements. It is enough to make a few successful accents.

Amber suits brown-eyed girls. To add naturalness to it, you can add sand grains to the gel. For those with blue eyes, the color of the morning sky will suit them.

Among the original and bright ideas for manicure with liquid stones are:

  • Eastern motives. Bright colors and dark edging are required. In combination with casting, you get the perfect manicure for the Sultan’s concubine.
  • Floral designs suggest stone as the core of a large flower.
  • Animal prints. For example, against a background of zebra stripes, you can use liquid stone to recreate the animal’s eye. Or choose another creature.
  • Velvet sand, which is sprinkled on the nail under the base, gives the effect of a cushion on which the jewel lies.

Among decorative ideas, the most common option is when the end of the nail is decorated with stones, but the plate remains untouched. Some extravagant women even add modeling in addition to stones and patterns.

The best option is a French jacket with liquid stones. It looks gentle, stylish and elegant. Most suitable for daily use. The decor can be placed both on the smile and under it. Moon manicure can also be decorated with a spectacular emerald. The main thing is to make the moon wide so that the precious stone can fit on it.

However, do not forget about restraint. A lot of small details spoil the image of an elegant aristocratic lady.

This manicure is unlikely to suit business women for everyday wear. It looks bright and solemn.

Advice! The edging of liquid stone using the gold casting technique looks impressive.

Short nail designs

In 2019, the extended nail plate was replaced by a natural one. Short nails are, first of all, convenient. They do not cling to clothes and do not interfere with housework and childcare.

Short nails are, first of all, convenient

Short nails can come in different shapes. The beautiful design looks good on oval, rectangular and even square plates. The specialist will help you choose the ideal size, depending on the pad, length and thickness of your fingers.

You can visually lengthen the shape of your nail by regularly removing the cuticle. The main requirement for short nails is well-groomed.

To prevent patterns on short nails from looking funny and flashy, it is better to apply them to one specific nail. For example, highlighting the ring finger is a classic. The rest of the nails should be plain.

The casting on all plates also looks beautiful, and on the selected fingers there are beautiful liquid stones. Even a standard French jacket in combination with a rich emerald looks amazing.

Nails painted in the color of stone look beautiful. While it is placed on another light background. For example, the depth of garnet can be emphasized using the ombre technique in black and red tones.

Despite the fact that liquid stones can be applied to short nails, stylists still recommend extending the plate and doing an elegant manicure on a long nail plate. This is convenient for the master and looks more beautiful and impressive.

The disadvantages of this technique include weight. Although liquid stones are lighter than rhinestones, they still overload the nail and it deteriorates. This is another argument why it is better to use the technique on artificial nails.

Advice!You can visually lengthen short nails using vertical lines and patterns. It is better to place the liquid stone at the tip of the plate.

Liquid stones - the main trend in manicure

Nail designs in the form of liquid stones help make your manicure sophisticated and refined. There is no need to use expensive materials, so you can achieve beauty and shine even at home. Among the disadvantages of a fashionista are:

  • in beauty studios, the service is expensive because enormous hard work is done to create the effect of liquid stone;
  • Not every master can perform a flawless manicure, since the service is new and the technique is not yet familiar to everyone.

What matters in the end result is how the stones look. They should have a rich color, shimmer, and unique shine. Imitation of green malachite, turquoise, crimson and red ruby, rose quartz, and all shades of sapphire adds luxury.

The popularity of liquid stones in 2019 is off the charts, so manufacturers of high-quality varnishes have developed suitable stained glass gels. The CNI company produces gel polishes that are easy to create liquid stones. Excellent stained glass options can be found in the Nogtika product line. Specially developed varnishes for the design of liquid stones are produced by the Y.R.E. brand. The line offers a wide selection of colors, so you can make any plate design.

The MagikNail company offers to deviate from the basic rules and simplify the work of the master, where they offer special stickers that replace painstaking work with ready-made holographic stones.

It is quite difficult to compare manufacturers and their offers, since the use of gels and stickers leads to different amounts of time and final results. Regarding the cost, there is also no similarity. Therefore, each master must choose for himself: what material is more convenient for him to work with.

Advice!Confidence in materials is a guarantee of quality. Therefore, you need to use licensed drugs. Then the decor will be durable and effective.

How to do a manicure yourself

The technique of making liquid stones is rightfully considered one of the most complex and time-consuming. To achieve the desired effect, professional materials and tools are used:

  • art gels in bright colors for drawing patterns;
  • golden tear-off foil for beautiful casting;
  • thick sculptural gel for voluminous liquid stone;
  • stained glass gel (the azure version looks good);
  • brushes: natural up to 6 mm, angled up to 6 mm, hair up to 2 mm;
  • protective gel without dispersion for long-term coverage;
  • UV lamp for drying each layer and fixing the result.

To perform a flawless manicure using the “liquid stones” technique, you need to follow step-by-step instructions and after some time, trial and error, the master will be able to design the nail plate no worse than what is shown on the pages of glossy magazines.

The jacket is made with white gel polish after cleansing the nails and giving them the desired shape. It is fixed in a UV lamp for 1–2 minutes until completely dry.

The plates are coated with a protective agent and drying is repeated under a UV lamp.

Various ornaments are created using black art gel as a basis for future casting. At this stage it is recommended to use a hair brush. It allows you to make clear contours and lines. After two minutes of polymerization of the workpiece, gold foil is applied to the nails. It needs to be tightly attached to the plate with the matte part and torn off with a sharp movement. This will make the ornament golden in color. You need to repeat the manipulation with each applied pattern. When completed, it will be a casting.

Colored gels are used to create a hole that will fix the stone. Ekaterina Miroshnichenko recommends using at least two shades to achieve three-dimensional shimmer under any type of lighting. After two minutes of polymerization, stained glass gel is applied, also in different tones. Only in this case will you get a multifaceted stone. The polymer is fixed using the standard method.

The resulting plate needs to be treated with sculpting gel to make the nail inlay look realistic and aristocratic. A thin brush will work here. Again you need to dry the layer in a UV lamp. The stone is coated with a special gel, without dispersion, and the nails undergo final treatment with UV radiation.

This type of manicure is considered unique because it is impossible to replicate the exact nail design. Castings or stones always look different. Therefore, every fashionista will show her individuality and originality. If you choose the right color scheme, such a manicure will be an excellent addition to any style and look, including a business one.

Painting on each nail, but the stone is only on the ring nail

You can remove a manicure made using the “liquid stones” technique in the same way as a regular gel polish. The nails are soaked in a special solution, and the polymer is removed without harming the appearance and structure of the plate. In rare cases, castings are removed by cutting.

Advice! After removing a fashionable nail design, it is recommended to perform a therapeutic manicure to strengthen and restore the structure of the nail plate.

The effect of natural stones on nails, however, like imitation of other textures, is one of the latest trends in nail art. You can imitate stone using different techniques, and they largely depend on what materials you are working with - regular nail polishes, gels or gel polishes. The technique may also differ depending on what kind of stone you want to depict. Almost everything is possible on nails: imitation of turquoise (one of the most popular options), malachite, agate, marble, garnet, opal and other natural stones.

Here I present to your attention one of such designs, which was made using Bluesky brand gel polishes.

The big advantage of this design is the ease of its implementation: it does not require precision in drawing or special tools. The only thing is that you need to have in your arsenal the necessary colors of gel polish to imitate stones. As a rule, these are similar color shades, black and white. For fine lines, you can use gel paint. Adding sparkles or colored gel polish with fine shimmer will look impressive, but again, it all depends on what kind of stone will be copied.

If you don’t have the colors you need, you can try to make them by mixing existing ones. For example, by adding black or white to the main color, you can make the gel polish darker or, conversely, lighter. I recommend reading about the formation of additional colors from existing ones.

Video: imitation of natural stone with gel polish

The entire design process is demonstrated in the video:

For the design we used:

  • File for natural nails,
  • Means for degreasing the nail surface,
  • Base, top and color gel polishes TM Bluesky Shellac,
  • Black and white gel paints,
  • Liquid for removing sticky layer,
  • UV lamp,
  • Lint-free wipes,
  • Nail design brushes.

Technique for simulating natural stone with gel polish on nails

1. Before applying a gel polish design, you need to perform a neat manicure: give your nails the desired shape with a file, push back and remove the cuticle. You should be especially careful with it so that there are no burrs left - they can interfere with the coating being done accurately. If you use cuticle oil after a manicure (and this is highly recommended), then you need to wash your hands with soap so that there are no greasy marks on your nails. In general, it is advisable to carry out the manicure procedure some time before the design itself, for example, a day, then nothing will interfere with the high-quality application of gel polish.

2. So, the nails are in order, now we remove the natural gloss from them by sanding the nail surface with a file for natural nails. It should not be coarsely abrasive, so as not to harm the nails - they need to be given only a slight roughness over the entire surface of the nail plate to improve adhesion to the material.

3. Shake off the resulting dust with a brush, and then apply a degreaser/primer to the nails.

4. I used it as a base for gel polish Bluesky Soak Off Gel Base Coat. The base coat is applied to the nails in a thin transparent layer and dried in an ultraviolet lamp for 1 minute. With gel polishes, I usually work according to the 4+1 scheme: first I cover the nails from the index to the little finger and dry them in a lamp, and then both large ones - this saves a lot of time without compromising the quality of the work. The only exception is the design.

5. The next step is to apply a color coating. In my version of imitation of natural stone, I took garnet stone as a basis, so my main color is dark burgundy (gel polish Bluesky Shellac 525). For density and uniformity of the coating, it is better to apply it in two layers, each of which is dried in a UV lamp for 2 minutes.

The imitation of natural stone (garnet) in my case is present on two nails, but it can be done on one or all.

How is the effect of natural stone achieved with gel polish?

To do this, apply a layer of colored gel polish, but do not dry it in a lamp. A few drops of gel polish of a lighter color are placed on it and shaded with a brush in any direction to imitate the stains of stone. I also added a few streaks of burgundy gel paint with gold shimmer - this is how the stone acquires a real shine in the sun. Since stones without impurities are rarely found in nature, thin uneven strips of black and white colors are also added to add naturalness.

You could finish the drawing here, but to give the stains an even more natural look, you can use this interesting technique: blow air onto the nail through a thin hole (I used a pen without a rod). Due to the fact that the gel polish does not dry out, this way you can create very beautiful transitions. But now you can send the design to polymerize in a lamp for 2 minutes.

When using this technique, and generally when working on wet gel polish, you may end up with an uneven design surface (lumpy), but this problem is almost completely solved by coating with a top coat. I used Bluesky Soak Off Gel Top Coat, it dries in a UV lamp for 2 minutes. The finish has a sticky layer that must be removed with a special liquid. The design is ready!

About Bluesky Shellac gel polishes

Bluesky Shellac Gel Polish very convenient to apply. It has an optimal consistency that does not allow it to flow into the cuticle floor and side ridges. Artificial bristles and a flat brush help make the coating even and its layer thin. The color applies tightly in two layers, polymerizes in a 36 Watt ultraviolet lamp for 2 minutes.

As for durability, I wore this design for 2 weeks, and it didn’t chip anywhere. According to the manufacturer, this period can be 3-4 weeks, but here it is still worth considering the correct application of gel polish.

You can remove Bluesky shellac with any gel polish remover. Read about how to properly remove long-term coating.

Bluesky Shellac gel polishes are provided by the online store 4shellac.ru
