Place the stuffing and sew to the body. Fold the wing piece in half, sew the side edges together, and sew the wings on the sides of the body. For the paws, fold two strips together, then fold them into a V shape to form three fingers for the front of the paw, and leave a strip a few stitches long for the back (see photo). Sew a few stitches to secure the position, then pin the legs to the bottom of the body, marking their location and sew. Remove pins.

For the eyes, mark their location on the head with pins. Using black thread, embroider the vertical eyes using a French knot. Sew the beak under the eyes.

Shell: sew the side edges, pass a white thread along the cast-on edge through each loop, pull tight. Fold the piece with the white part inward along the picot line. Spray with hairspray to stiffen the piece.

You can also spray the paws with varnish. If the halves of the shells are fastened together with a few stitches, then the egg will open and the chicks can be placed there.

Dear friends, we continue to knit chickens for Easter... Today, according to the plan, chicken number two is a chicken with knitting needles... And for crochet lovers, there is an article on the blog ““. For those who prefer knitting needles, let’s think about what this bird reminds you of?))) Well, to me personally, I immediately imagine a small round yellow fluffy lump...

...this is what we will proceed from)))

chicken knitting - how to knit

Let's take it as a basis)))

To knit a chicken with knitting needles we will need:

  • Threads “Krokha” NAZAR (such a fluffy lump should be fluffy))), just left from the same bumblebee)))
  • Knitting needles No. 2.5
  • as well as threads for finishing, hook and eyes)))

Let's start with the head-torso))) - this is a single part (remember, round? lump))) To knit such a lump we proceed as follows (knit, i.e. all the loops:

  • cast on 4 stitches on knitting needles
  • Row 1 - knit stitches
  • Row 2 - knit, yarn over, knit, yarn over, knit, yarn over, knit. There are a total of 7 loops on the knitting needle.
  • Row 3 - all persons.
  • Row 4 - *knit, yarn over*, and so on until the end, finish knit, just like row 2. There are 13 loops on the needle
  • Row 5 - knit all
  • Row 6 - *K2, yarn over*, **knit 3 to the end of the row - there are 18 stitches on the needle.
  • Row 7 - knit all
  • Row 8 -*K3, yarn over*,** to the end of the row, 23 loops on the needle
  • Rows 9-17 are all knit without increases

From the 18th row, decreases begin, we do them in the same way as increases in 8-2 rows, or almost like that)))

  • Row 18 - *knit 3 knits, knit 2 together* and so on until the end of the row
  • Row 20 - *knit 2 knits, knit 2 together* and so on until the end of the row
  • Row 22 - *knit 1 knit, knit 2 together* and so on until the end of the row
  • Row 24 - *every 2 knit stitches together* and so on until the end of the row
  • 19, 21, 23 row - knit without decreases
  • 25th row - close the loops

The first and main part is ready, now the wings, there should be two of them.

  • cast on 7 stitches on the knitting needles and knit 4 rows in garter stitch,
  • in the 5th row we knit: knit, 2 together, knit, 2 together, knit
  • Row 6 - knit all
  • Row 7 - knit, 3 together, knit
  • Row 8 - knit
  • Row 9 - 3 together, close the loop)))

The main work of knitting a chicken with knitting needles is done, all that remains is to sew and stuff the body, and sew the wings to it...

and then decorate as desired...sew or embroider, or glue on the beak, eyes and comb. At first I thought of making a comb and beak from felt, but I didn’t find the right color... so I crocheted the comb and beak...,

For the scallop I knitted 6 ch, 3 ch, connected a stitch in the 4th loop from the hook, again 3 ch, connected. stitch through the loop of the chain, 3 ch. and conn. Art. in the last loop of the chain... then I tied these scents like petals for a flower))) into each scent-st. b/n., 3 tbsp. s/n., art. b/n. (in the central “petal” experiment with the height of the columns))) and finished tying with a crawfish step)))
beak - 4 v.p., v.p. for lifting, 4 tbsp. b/n., turn, v.p. for lifting, 2 columns together and in the next. row, all three columns together, tied with a crawfish step and sewed to the chick...
All that's left is to do a little magic and... this is the kind of chicken that came out with knitting needles))) P.S. This is not a master class, but just an idea))) so I ask you not to find fault with the calculations and descriptions, but to slightly refine what you see fit)))
