The best running shoes (reviews). An excellent model for competitions. Rating of the best running shoes

As is the annual tradition, the portal http://www.outsideonline.com/ provides a list of the best equipment and accessories for the coming year. This time, the portal's specialists have chosen the best running shoes.

In general, runners are divided into two broad categories: those for whom running speed is important when choosing running shoes, and those who value convenience more. The stiffer and thinner the midsole, the faster and better your run will be, but your feet will also feel the stiffness of these sneakers. And vice versa - the softer the midsole and the more secure the foot, the easier it will be on the feet - but this will also significantly affect the running pace. Well, at least that's what we always thought. Now, the most innovative shoes are developed precisely at the intersection of these two conflicting principles of sneaker design. Each of the models selected by our team has found its own, completely new balance of two opposite principles - speed and comfort, a kind of “yin and yang” in running shoes. And the Pegasus sneakers from Nike proved to be the best in the harmonious combination of these properties - a model that is now heading for its 33rd reissue. Among the advantages of this model, running speed and wearing comfort are combined in equal parts - a ratio that none of the other participants in the comparison were able to achieve.

Sneakers Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 32

Best Model of the Year

It's hard to decide whether to consider this a competition shoe (based on the weight) or a training shoe due to the comfortable fit. And this in itself is a very good sign. Stretchy, lightweight and soft, the Pegasus immediately became a favorite among speed runners who wanted a shoe that would adapt to their feet and prepare them for fast paces. They also pleased our testers, who appreciated the soft foam midsole, which was moderately oriented towards heel strike. But what captivated us the most was the mesh upper of these sneakers, which thanks to new technology easily adapts to the characteristics of the foot. The Pegasus model uses a tie made of intersecting cords on the sides of the upper - the cords independently transfer pressure to the foot, which allows you to support the foot of almost any shape in a fixed position. However, these shoes can be stretched to their limits on longer runs and when used by heavier runners—the flexible forefoot and thin midsole may not feel firm or cushioned enough if you have tired legs or are heavier than average. But in most cases, if you are looking for a sneaker that is lightweight and yet designed for training, you won't find a better option than this great model.

SneakersNew Balance Vazee Pace

Best suited: For fast and long runs.

How they showed themselves:“These are simply amazing shoes!” – said one of the testers after several long runs. “They are light and incredibly comfortable on the foot.” The Vazee is equal parts feather-light competition shoe and midfoot running shoe. This is one of the most impressive new releases of the year - on the one hand, these sneakers adapt incredibly well to the foot, but on the other hand, they maintain a feeling of stability and support for the foot even during long training sessions. Testers liked this model's snug fit, padded tongue, and elastic heel counter. For runners who have a harder time shifting their weight from one foot to the other or simply have less running experience, the foam midsole may feel a little thin, but most of our team found it sufficient to soften the edges of road imperfections.

Verdict: Sneakers with a comfortable fit for lovers of fast and technical running.

SneakersMizuno Wave Enigma 5

Best suited: For long and fun runs.

How they showed themselves: Enigma sneakers are a “workhorse”: a reliable model designed for comfort during long multi-kilometer runs. The midsole is heel-strike oriented and the outsole has a nice amount of stiffness and a stable feel. “This model is both luxurious and simple—a wonderful combination,” noted one tester. A full-length plastic midsole gives these close-fitting shoes a significantly higher degree of responsiveness than their foam-midsole counterparts (although some of the softness is lost as you transition from heel strike to midfoot strike). We liked how this model fits comfortably and tightly on the foot, that its tongue is quite thick, and the laces are elastic. And while this model is as good as many other speed running shoes, it's still worth looking into other options if you're planning on competing in sprint events.

Verdict: In this year's collection, this is our team's favorite model of training sneakers for multi-kilometer races.

Sneakers Adidas Supernova Sequence Boost 8

Best suited: For running with the breeze - and in comfort.

How they showed themselves: Sequence Boost sneakers are like a quality blockbuster: designed for mass demand. This model combines the features that most runners look for in a traditional training shoe: a secure and supportive upper, a generously padded tongue and heel, and a roomy toe box. The midsole is made up of half EVA foam and half Adidas' proprietary Boost material, which is soft and springy, providing good shock absorption and cushioning. Several plastic reinforcements in the midsole and mid heel add stability to this shoe. And although the Sequence Boost sneakers had to pay for this with a slight increase in weight, we still liked them because they allowed us to run long distances comfortably.

Verdict: Reliable, confidence-inspiring sneakers - for those who take an “extra” couple of tens of grams lightly.

Sneakers The North Face Ultra MT

Best suited: For running on difficult routes.

How they showed themselves: These sneakers have mountain goat genetics. The 5mm tread ridges provide grip on loose ground, the Vibram outsole provides excellent traction, and the exceptionally stable, locked-in fit ensures comfort. All these qualities allow the Ultra MT to easily carry you through the toughest trails. The heel is stiff and dense enough to prevent pain when you powerfully transfer your weight from foot to foot when running on uneven ground, as well as reduce possible fatigue during long runs. The front part of the sole, on the contrary, is quite thin and sensitive, it is aimed at fast running. The main note with this model is that the thin laces go from under-tight to over-tight quickly, and the tongue is thin and can rub if you have a high arch. Runners with wide or non-standard feet should be careful when trying them on - due to the peculiarities of its fit, this model will not easily forgive a mistake in choice.

Verdict: Really high quality running shoes for the lazy mountain runner.

SneakersVasque Pendulum II

Best suited: For fast running in any conditions.

How they showed themselves: The Pendulum model is somewhere in the middle between the two camps, combining the preferences of lovers of minimalist shoes - and their opponents. Features include a moderately ridged outsole, a skid plate for rocky terrain, and a thick, dense midsole that makes it a great trail running shoe. At the same time, deep cuts in the rear of the upper and a 6mm drop in the outsole help maintain a natural running stride. Many testers noted a feeling of stability and stability in the midfoot. “These sneakers seem to hold onto your feet themselves - they don’t pinch or flop anywhere,” as one of the runners who tested the Pendulum model put it. However, these sneakers are quite spacious, so they are best suited for those with wide feet – or thick socks. A nice bonus: the tread with a medium pattern makes it easy to run even in mud.

Verdict: A very versatile winter sneaker that provides ample protection and doesn't offend the sense of proportion in any way.

SneakersHoka Speedgoat

Best suited: For lovers of soft comfort.

How they showed themselves: Imagine having the softest buns on your feet instead of sneakers! With 33mm of foam under the heel and 28mm of foam under the forefoot, your foot feels like it's bottomlessly soft with every step. This model is positioned as a competitive shoe for serious routes; however, we found the midsole to be too high and the lightweight upper material too loose to hold its shape for significant acceleration in rocky terrain. But these sneakers are similar to bicycles with flat tires - they also dampen excess acceleration, which makes them very helpful in extreme races and downhill, and they allow you to switch from one type of running to another quite quickly. As one tester said, “These are the most comfortable trail shoes I've ever worn. Dot".

Verdict: You'll float in these sneakers without feeling your feet. But avoid areas of turbulence.

SneakersAltra Lone Peak Neoshell

How they showed themselves: The coolest feature of the Lone Peak is the waterproof and incredibly breathable Polartec Neoshell upper, which replaces the usual Gore-Tex liner. It acts as a barrier to moisture from melting snow, which could otherwise be absorbed and weigh down the sneakers. But regarding the rest, our team was divided. Some testers praised the lightweight feel the cushioned, zero-drop midsole created: “Like slippers,” one tester said. Others, on the contrary, did not like the significant volume of the front part of the sneakers and the upper, which was completely devoid of structural rigidity.

Verdict: Waterproof sneakers for lovers of light and fast running. The design, however, could use some improvement.

Sneakers Merrell All Out Terra Ice Waterproof

Best suited: For running on rough terrain and highways in icy conditions.

How they showed themselves: Thanks to the nine carbide-tipped studs on the outsole of the All Out Terra Ice, this shoe will provide you with a surprisingly stable footing even on bare ice. And the waterproof upper material gives these sneakers outstanding performance even when running on dense snow. The padded tongue and comfortable midsole make for a comfortable winter running experience, although the 360g-plus weight may take a bit of a toll on pacing. There is one obvious oddity: the loose heel fit causes an unusually unsteady feeling in the back of the foot. The feeling is really strange, but it doesn’t spoil the overall positive impression of the model.

Verdict: These running shoes will protect your feet in cold winter weather.

Weight: 363 g

Sole height difference: 6 mm

SneakersBrooks Adrenaline ASR 12 GTX

Best suited: For those looking for comfort in the winter cold.

How they showed themselves: The Adrenaline model is emphatically traditional. Thanks to its soft-touch upper and thick overlays, it has won a strong following among our team among larger-bodied runners with moderate pronation, who are looking for stability, comfort, and support in a shoe for miles of running—without it also weighing heavily. . In harsh weather conditions, the Adrenaline's Gore-Tex upper and closely spaced tread ridges are beneficial features. The thick, moderately stiff midsole responds well to your feet, but the running speed in these shoes is slightly reduced. Keep in mind the 12 mm drop in the sole height - it orients the Adrenaline model more towards running from the heel.

Verdict: A stable, versatile workhorse - for the worst weather.

Do you like to run? Are you sure you're doing everything right? After all, running is not exercise: for training to be safe and effective, you need comfortable shoes. But how to choose it? What criteria should I focus on? What must be taken into account and what can be neglected? Our article today is a kind of review of running shoes. We are sure that by the end of reading you will already have made your choice. Let's get started!

Inexperienced athletes are surprised: why are ordinary sneakers not suitable for these purposes? Does it really matter what kind of shoes are worn by a person who runs “for the soul”? There is undoubtedly a difference. Even if you are a non-professional athlete, your body still takes on increased stress when jogging. The feet work in a completely different rhythm, the spine experiences more tension than when walking. And if these overloads are not compensated for in any way, there is a high risk of injury.

It is precisely this task - compensation for increased loads - that is performed by sports shoes. Moreover, price or brand is not the main factor that you need to focus on when choosing running shoes. It is much more important to take into account three other criteria:

  • desired training intensity;
  • the surface you will run on;
  • Features of foot placement during jogging.

To find the best running shoes, you need to consider three factors. And now we will tell you in detail which ones.

Criterion one: intensity of loads

How to choose running shoes based on this indicator? Very simple! All you need to do is determine the approximate frequency and duration of your workouts.

  • Do you spend 15-20 minutes on the treadmill every one or two days? There is no need for special shoes: the material of the projectile will already save you from injury, and the loads are not so great as to harm the body. So choose any comfortable sneakers - and go!
  • Do you prefer long or high-speed treadmill sessions every few days? Simple sneakers made of breathable fabric - perforated or with mesh - are suitable. Shoes should have some cushioning. This will be indicated by the increased heel height.
  • Do you train outside at an average speed of 13 kilometers per hour for at least 30 minutes at least twice a week? Or maybe you are overweight (more than 78 kg for girls and 84 for boys? In both cases, you need special running shoes with high-quality shock-absorbing elements.

Now that you have learned what kind of running shoes should be for outdoor running, it’s time to move on to the second parameter - the type of running surface.

Criterion two: place to train

This criterion is one of the main ones. It is no coincidence that jogging shoes are divided into two types:

  • trail running shoes are designed specifically for running on dirt roads;
  • asphalt - as you might guess, for training on asphalt surfaces.

Let's now look at each of the groups. Trail sneakers are true all-terrain vehicles. Their upper part is very durable, in addition, most models have a Gore-Tex membrane that wicks away excess moisture well. The tread has an aggressive pattern that provides good traction on wet or bumpy soil. Since the ground absorbs better than the asphalt surface, the sole of trail “SUVs” is stiffer and, as a result, the impact is absorbed worse.

Running in trail shoes on asphalt roads is not recommended. But also through Belovezhsky forests and dense thickets. The ideal surface for such shoes is beaten paths in fields or forests.

But the best friends of all slimming ladies are asphalt sneakers. These are exactly what you need if you are going to run around the city or at the stadium.

The main task of such sneakers is to properly absorb the load on the legs when landing. Few people know, but at this moment the foot takes a blow equal to six times the athlete’s body weight. Therefore, the soles of asphalt crosses are necessarily equipped with shock absorbers, which are shock-absorbing “foam” that is located between two layers of the base material.

The best sneakers for running on asphalt should have a high-quality sole made of EVA material (the substance is called ethyl vinyl acetate) or its durable lightweight analogue - Super EVA.

Do you have any doubts about how to choose sneakers for running on asphalt based on the type of shock absorbers? Look for one of the following markings on the sole: Gel, Air, Grid, Adiprene, as well as Absorb, Wave or Hydroflow. These are designations of the highest quality shock-absorbing elements.

In cheaper models, the shock absorber is located only in the heel, while in more expensive shoes it is also located in the toe. Therefore, you may encounter the above markings both in the heel area of the shoe sole, and in two places at once. Which option to choose depends on your “landing” when running. And it, in turn, directly depends on the structure of the foot and the speed of training. If you train slowly or suffer from flat feet, sneakers with one shock absorber are suitable. If you have a high arch and exercise intensely, look for a “two in one.”

An ideal option for overweight people are sneakers with two Gel shock absorbers. The advantages of elements of this type are their ability to absorb shock in the same natural way as the tissues of our body.

Criterion three: pronation

Don't be scared by an unfamiliar word: this is just the name for placing your feet while jogging. How to choose the right running shoes based on this parameter? Depends on the individual characteristics of the body:

  1. Are your feet as parallel as possible? This means that pronation is neutral, which is ideal for an athlete.
  2. Do your socks “sag” a little on the inside? This means underpronation - which is also pretty good for running.
  3. Do your socks “look” outward? This is what hyper- or overpronation looks like. Runners with this “diagnosis” have a hard time: the leg muscles get tired very quickly, and painful, hard calluses can form on the feet. This situation mainly occurs in people who are overweight or have advanced flat feet.

For the first two cases, neutral shoes are best suited. For the third, sneakers of the “stability” group with a special insert that significantly limits the outward turn of the foot.

How to choose running shoes in a store based on pronation? Explain the problem to the sellers, and if necessary, show them exactly how you place your feet while jogging. When ordering from an online store, make sure that the shoes are marked Stability or Cushion.

Running is the most accessible and understandable sport, however, to achieve the best results, it is not enough to perform the technique accurately; it is also important to choose comfortable and correct sneakers, because they determine the degree of comfort when placing the foot and taking steps. The shoes are distinguished by a special last design with ankle support and heel fixation; the sole with a complex tread compensates for increased loads during movement and relieves pressure on the feet. Sneakers differ according to several criteria:

  1. According to the specifics of application - for short distances, for cross-country, universal;
  2. Male and female.

The Best Women's Running Shoes

Sneakers for the fair sex should not only be comfortable and practical, but also stylish, because even on a treadmill a woman wants to look attractive. In the category we presented shoes for female runners at different distances.

The leader in the ASICS rating is the GEL-PULSE 9 model, the shoes are suitable for both men and women - their design is neutral, and the color range is wide. These sneakers have a high level of sales in Europe among professional and amateur athletes; in Russia they are supplied to the Athletics and Triathlon Federation, as well as to 10 other countries around the globe. At many world relay races and championships, athletes perform in ASICS GEL-PULSE 9 sneakers. The shoes have a special structure: the multilayer sole has a gel shock-absorbing layer that redistributes the load on the foot at every moment of change in its position and weight distribution. This way the leg joints from the ankle to the knee and hip are unloaded, and slightly less force is required for movement.

The textile from which the last is made allows air and moisture to pass through, so the foot does not sweat even over long running distances. At the same time, the heel securely fixes the heel, preventing the foot from accidentally turning in, and does not injure the skin - there is a fabric edging around the ankle. The sneakers are light, you hardly feel them on your feet while running, their wear resistance is high - like new even after a year. The only drawback is that it does not correspond to the standard size chart according to Russian standards; when purchasing, you need to choose shoes 1-1.5 sizes larger.

A special feature of the Under Armor UA W HOVR Phantom NC sneakers for women is the implementation of the UA HOVR™ sole technology. The Best Men's Running Shoes

The ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 20 sneakers with neutral pronation are recognized as the best, adapting to the shape of the athlete’s foot with a snug fit of the textile upper and elastic sole with gel filler, providing ideal shock absorption for each area of the foot at all stages of training, regardless of the nature of the movement. The FluidRide midsole technology also provides lightness and stress relief from the foot when running.

The upper part of the sneaker, made of seamless textile, fits snugly to the foot and prevents it from sweating, allowing steam to escape, while at the same time supporting the foot when moving.

ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 20 is suitable for long and short distance runs, mainly on smooth asphalt surfaces. Shoes at the same time help to increase the strength of the calf muscles - their weight in a pair is all 610 grams, and when pushing off from the surface, the foot does not “spring”, but falls into the gel cushion, which requires additional effort from the athlete, but this disadvantage is compensated by the correct choice of movement technique .

You can buy ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 20 sneakers from 8,600 rubles.

Advantages

  • Perfect adaptation to the foot;
  • For short and long distances;

The footbed and midsole feature ABZORB® and ACTEVA technologies with unique geometry to compensate for this by softening the stride with cushioning and providing enhanced support for the foot when running and walking, as well as responsiveness over long distances. The T-beam technology protects the sneaker from twisting, while simultaneously increasing stabilization when moving.

The rubber outsole around the perimeter and toe extends the life of the sneakers and makes them durable during maneuvers. You can buy New Balance 860v8 from 11,990 rubles.

Advantages

  • Increased support for overpronating feet;
  • Suitable for running at different distances;
  • Bright colors of breathable upper material;
  • Multi-layer shock-absorbing sole;
  • Protection against twisting and eversion of legs when running.

Flaws

  • High price.

Salomon XA ELEVATE sneakers are created from a combination of different materials: on top there is a breathable mesh textile that allows moisture to pass through and ensures a tight fit of the shoe to the foot, rubberized stripes of the same material and color enhance the strength of the sneaker around the perimeter and increase resistance to moisture when jogging on wet asphalt or grass, The rigid heel counter supports the heel while walking and running.

A multi-layer rubber sole with a Profeel Film gasket and a textured tread absorbs pressure from stones when running on rough terrain and soil, while providing ideal grip and preventing the foot from slipping. The sole bends in the transverse direction easily, that is, the foot does not need much effort to roll during a step, but it is difficult to bend in the longitudinal direction; the Advanced Chassis stabilization system works, protecting against twisting. The sneakers are ideal for running off the beaten track and also perform well on asphalt surfaces.

The last of the Salomon XA ELEVATE sneakers is designed for medium-width feet and is adjustable with lacing, which is practically not felt and does not create pressure.

To purchase a pair of sneakers you will have to shell out 7,100 rubles.

Advantages

  • Suitable for running on rough, mountainous terrain and on asphalt;
  • Rubberized bottom of the textile part;
  • Anti-twist protection;
  • Reinforced sole, compensating for uneven terrain;
  • Breathable upper material (wear-resistant mesh).

Flaws

  • With such endurance, the sides of the sneaker would be desirable to raise a little for greater comfort.

Fifth place goes to sneakers for men from the well-known Nike brand, the FLEX EXPERIENCE RN 7 model, which fit perfectly on the foot and are practically not felt when running on flat surfaces and dirt. The upper is a breathable melange material, compacted in the heel area, soft at the toe, the sole is a foamed polymer with a projector in the form of hexagonal grooves, provides flexibility when rolling the foot, at the same time relieving tension from it, the rounded heel part also contributes to this. The weight of one sneaker is 256 grams - optimal for training by professional athletes and amateurs.

The price of a pair of Nike FLEX EXPERIENCE RN 7 starts at 4,690 rubles.

Advantages

  • Ergonomic classic design;
  • Powerful stabilization and shock absorption;
  • Breathable materials;
  • Comfortable last with heel support.

Flaws

  • They run small in size, which must be taken into account when ordering in the online store.

The rating in the category of men's running shoes is completed by the product of the already familiar ASICS brand, the GEL-SONOMA 3 model with a gel stabilizer inside a multi-layer sole for long-term training on mountainous and rough terrain. A thick sole made of wear-resistant foam with a pronounced powerful tread that provides traction on any type of surface, including loose soil, dampens uneven terrain. For a comfortable descent, there is a rubber ledge above the heel. The textile upper is wear-resistant, promotes an ideally tight fit on a medium-width foot, the ankle is fixed securely, but over time the area of coverage wears out, which can cause discomfort. Sneakers for professional runners differ from amateur runners in the high degree of foot support and shock absorption necessary for comfortable movement of the leg in the flow of overcoming short and long distances.

Athletes hold in high regard the professional running shoes Adidas Energy Boost ESM with an updated layer inside the Boost sole made of thermoplastic polyurethane granules, which provide compensation for unevenness of any type of road surface and soil. The cushioning technology using balls is also useful for another property - saving energy and transferring it to the leg, that is, when moving, the effort is reduced and more energy remains for jogging. However, the thermoplastic Dual Torsion sole is not as flexible as we would like - this is Adidas' desire to make sneakers perfect and more wear-resistant.

The upper part of the shoe is made of mesh that stretches in all directions, widening at the toe for freedom of the forefoot. It does not allow air to pass through well enough, so the foot gets hot in the heat, but does not sweat - this problem has been solved with dignity. The heel is rigid, but due to the weak flexibility of the sole it feels rough.

Experts gave second place in the rating to sneakers for professionals Asics GEL-DS TRAINER 20 NC with a system for distributing incoming impacts and uneven surfaces. The sole made of wear-resistant AHAR+ rubber with an ASICS silicone layer allows you to run in comfort, it reduces the load on the joints of the athlete’s legs, provides maximum shock absorption, and the tread on the bottom layer of AHAR rubber creates traction on any road surface, including wet ones.

The California last is resistant to shock loads, its exoskeleton heel securely fixes the heel, preventing twisting and dislocation. The outer material is breathable textiles with reflective inserts; the inside is an absorbent ComforDry insole, which can be removed, washed or replaced if necessary.

The cost of Asics GEL-DS TRAINER 20 NC sneakers is from 6,150 rubles.

Advantages

  • Double-layer sole with silicone compensator;
  • Breathable textile covering;
  • Fixation of the heel in the heel;
  • Suitable for running on asphalt and dirt.

Flaws

  • Runs small;
  • Less durable and wear-resistant compared to Adidas Energy Boost ESM.

The Best Shoes for Long Distance Cross Country

When running long distances and long workouts, proper distribution of the load on the leg, compensation for uneven ground, and comfort are necessary. The ideal marathon shoes are the only ones in our rating, but they are preferred by runners in different countries; the shoes can often be found at competitions and international relay races.

Sneakers with an aggressive design and character, the Salomon SPEEDCROSS VARIO 2 GTX® perform equally well on flat roads and on rough terrain: the lightweight Wet Traction Contagrip sole with a deep tread provides traction on hard and soft, dry and wet soil, while giving a good rebound. due to the lack of internal compensation pillows. The 11mm front-to-back drop is optimal for athletes of all skill levels and running techniques.

The perimeter-reinforced last is not afraid of impacts and protects against dislocation and twisting; the textile upper allows moisture to pass out and creates thermoregulation inside. The tongue protects the internal space from the ingress of pebbles and dust when moving outside the asphalt, and also additionally secures the foot in the sneaker. The ankle wrap is snug and does not cause discomfort, and the insole is designed for athletes with a neutral foot arch.

Salomon SPEEDCROSS VARIO 2 GTX® running shoes are ideal for long walks and runs on off-road and dirt, provide comprehensive support for the foot when moving, they have virtually no disadvantages. The cost of a pair is about 7,990 rubles.

  • Protection against penetration of dust and stones;
  • Comfortable slope from heel to toe 11 mm;
  • Elastic sole with enhanced shock absorption;
  • Dynamic design in a variety of colors.

Conclusion

We present to your attention a review of the best sneakers of 2017.

Training category

Unfortunately, Asics doesn’t have any simple, versatile and inexpensive sneakers left. There used to be a great series Gel-Oberon, it was replaced by a less successful Gel-Excite. For beginners I can recommend Asics Gel-Contend 4. Everything else is slag from third-rate materials. More expensive Asics Pulse 9 And GT-1000 6- good reliable workhorses. If you need more comfort around the foot, you can pay a little extra and get a balanced model GT-2000 5. If the price of sneakers is not the main thing, then it is worth considering Asics Kayano 24. If you need options for the off-season, there are good models with a Gore-Tex membrane and a more aggressive sole. Pulse 9 GTX, GT-1000 6 GTX, and GT-2000 5 Trail PlasmaGuard.

Mizuno Wave Ultima 9 / Rider 21. If Rider 21- universal sneakers, then Ultima 9- cope better with long workouts at a calm pace. Mizuno Wave Sky / Wave Horizon are two excellent debuts from the Japanese company. These models have an uncharacteristic softness for Mizuno, but it is not plush like its competitors. Wave Sky outperforms Gel-Nimbus in all respects, Wave Horizon Worth considering if you're tired of the Asics Kayano.

Saucony Triumph Iso 3/ Ride 10. With the debut of Everun technology, the company has undergone a major transformation, giving its running shoes many competitive advantages. Series Triumph ISO 3- analogue of Asics Nimbus for understanding, Ride 10- analogue of Mizuno Rider 21, the same lightweight universal model. These are not analogues in the literal sense, they are simply in the same category. Saucony Freedom ISO/Liberty ISO is one of the best debuts of the year, and the full-length Everun midsole gives these sneakers excellent responsiveness. Saucony Omni 16/Guide 10- a great alternative to a couple Asics Kayano 24/GT-2000 5.

Adidas Supernova / Supernova ST. Unfortunately, strong and balanced versions Adidas Supernova Glide Boost 6/7/8 And Supernova Sequence 7/8/9 no longer produced. You can look instead Adidas Supernova(for neutral pronation)/ Supernova ST(for overpronation).

Brooks... after the company removed non-Newtonian fluid capsules from its sneakers and released the material SuperDNA, where foam is supposedly mixed with microcapsules of non-Newtonian liquid, I stopped respecting this brand. Purely a marketing scam. Now Brooks is a regular sneaker with a regular EVA foam (albeit shock-absorbing). Well, if you are looking for a replacement for Asics Nimbus/Cumulus you can take a closer look at the tandem Brooks Glycerin 15/Ghost 10. Another model has appeared with a new promising dna amp foam (a type of polyurethane) - brooks levitate, but it still needs to be brought to mind.

Nike Zoom Pegasus 34/Winflo 4 And Nike Zoom Structure 21/ Span 2. No matter what anyone says, Nike has some decent training shoes. Good responsiveness of the platform, light and smooth finishing materials, comfortable fit on the foot are the main advantages of the above-mentioned models. Winflo 4 And Span 2 options that are more budget-friendly in price (but definitely not in feel).

Hoka OneOne. A brand that in just a few years has become one of the leaders in the running shoe segment. And the number of finishers at the 2017 Ironman Kona World Championship wearing Hoka sneakers is greater than Asics. This brand appeared in Russia only this year, and we haven’t really had time to understand its collection yet.

Under Armour. Sneakers from this brand also only recently appeared in Russia, but they are pleasing with their reasonable price and combination of characteristics that are superior to their more famous competitors. Model Under Armor Speedform Europe is a serious competitor to the model Asics GT-2000. Gemini and Charged Bandit 2- leading models in the UA line and their main products in the neutral category.
These models are competitors Brooks Ghost, Adidas Supernova Glide, ASICS Cumulus And Mizuno Wave Rider.

Off-road running shoes

Asics Sonoma 3- simple and versatile off-road running shoes from Asics
Mizuno Wave Hayate 3- unique off-road “marathons” of its kind
Saucony Peregrine 7- get maximum grip on a wide variety of terrain from Saucony
Salomon SpeedCross 4- get maximum grip on a wide variety of terrain from Salomon
Mizuno Wave Daichi 2- balanced off-road model with Michelin sole

Tempo running shoes

Asics Roadhawk- the best debut, and one of the most affordable (with a discount of about 4000 rubles) retail options for tempo running, speed series, and competitions. Asics DS-Trainer 22 is a successful continuation of the Asics franchise.

Mizuno Wave Shadow- the new series replaced Wave Sayonara (which in turn replaced Wave Precision). I never understood the meaning of the name change, but the debut model in the new series turned out to be successful.

Adidas Boston 6/ Tempo 9- responsive ride, efficient transition from landing to the moment of repulsion, wear-resistant sole with good grip, breathable upper.

Nike Air Zoom Elite 9- extremely light, smooth top, responsive front end, grip.

Saucony Breakthru 3- an excellent model that combines the best qualities of the Kinvara model

Brooks Launch 4- light and elastic sneakers with high-quality finishing materials for tempo running.

Marathons

Mizuno Wave Sonic- a successful debut that replaced the Hitogami series
Adidas adizero Adios 3- continuation of the beloved professional series Adios
Saucony Type A8- one of the best choices for distances from 5km to half marathon.
Nike Zoom Flyknit Streak- a huge step forward compared to the 5th generation Zoom Streak
Nike Zoom Fly- loud premiere from the "Breaking 2 project" collection

Ultralight marathon shoes

Mizuno Ekiden 11- thin midsole, completely covered with thin studs on the bottom for maximum grip
Saucony Endorphin Racer 2- marathon runners with a weight of 115g!!!
