I made this knight costume, sometimes I have to help my brother. He plays in the theater. This is not my first costume, but one of the simplest.
Making such a costume will not be difficult. You will need the following gray fabric like in the photo, an ax (either buy it from children's toys or cut it out of wood), a large black T-shirt and a coat of arms.
I had to sew the costume myself. I bought this fabric, made markings, cut it out as needed and sewed it. It turned out to be such a combo. There was a hatchet. I printed the coat of arms at a copy center and simply glued it onto the T-shirt.

I knitted a hero’s costume and sewed a scarlet cloak. I got a little confused with the threads for knitting. I couldn’t find steel-colored threads with lurex. I bought silver fabric that does not fray, cut it into thin strips, cut it as if in a circle so that it would come out continuously without knots. I also had to mess with the silver threads. Somehow it turned out to be too expensive, because they are mainly sold in small reels. Again, I bought silver fabric that can be unraveled, it turned out cheaper and the skein is heavy. Next, using two threads, I knitted an elongated sleeveless vest with a pattern of chain mail, you can use a simpler method (I also used it) to crochet a mesh (double crochet, 2 chain stitches). I crocheted the helmet like a simple hat, but in front, where it is worn, I made a small triangle. And at the top, on the top of the head, she made a peak. I sewed on a sunflower from silver fabric (which I unraveled for threads), and embroidered rays. The top was painted with nail polish with large glitter. I bought some braid for the cloak, tied it together, and inserted it into the buckle. Small plates on the top of the phalanx (they go too far on the sides - you’ll have to walk with your fingers splayed, but there’s definitely no need to sheathe the inside), on the next one, and finally on the back of the hand. To make it absolutely beautiful, each next row hangs slightly over the previous one.
Like there are whole scales on my fingers. One plate per phalanx is enough. And let it be solid above the palm. Fender (bell) - very good. If there is still material left, do it.
You can make a helmet from the same isolon. Here you will definitely have to take 1 cm thick.
This thing is called a bascinet. It even has an edge, so by making it from two halves, we will remain close to the truth. You don't have to make a visor. The only thing I would recommend is to connect the two halves at the front and bottom so that they don’t bulge and the helmet keeps its shape.

You can not fool around, but make a knight of the 12th century. Sew a shirt, trousers and a hood from knitwear, matching the colors to match the chain mail. Or sew some kind of mesh on top.
