Sweater pattern with leaves pattern. Knitting for women. Sweater with large knitted leaves. Patterns and schemes

Sweater knitting description:

The sweater in this tutorial will be knitted in sizes 42-48. At the same time, for size 42 the sweater will fit loosely, and for size 48 it will fit snugly.

To knit a sweater you will need:

  • - You will need 500 g of angora yarn: 60% acrylic, 40% mohair, 500 meters per 100 grams.
  • - Knitting needles: 4.5 mm-5.5 mm.
  • - Scissors, measuring tape, sewing needle.
  • - Stitch markers. Instead of markers, you can use regular paper clips.

Knitting pattern for a sweater with leaves pattern

We knit with thread in two folds. We will divide the work of knitting a sweater into several parts: Sleeves, back, front. After knitting all the parts, assembly is performed.

Let's start the work by knitting the sleeves. In the sleeves, first we knit rows of elastic. And then let's start making the main pattern.

A detailed description of knitting one repeat pattern of a branch with leaves in the sleeves is shown in the video.

Knitting the back fabric also begins with an elastic band. After this, distribute the loops and knit two repeats of the main pattern to the neckline. The front fabric is knitted similarly to the back, but with a deeper V-shaped neckline.

Once all the pieces are knitted, we will show you how to assemble the pieces of this knitted sweater into a finished product. During assembly, shoulder and side seams are performed. The sleeves of the sweater are sewn in and stitched. After the assembly is completed, it is necessary to tie the V-shaped neckline.

Photo of a knitted sweater from different sides

Wonderful sweater from a craftswoman Pilipyan.

Used yarn Alize Lanagold 800 in 3 folds. Consumption is about 300-400 g. Circular and stocking needles No. 4.5 - 5. Needle for stitching parts. I made a description of a children's model for the age of 3 years; to knit such a sweater of a different size, you definitely need thicker yarn and all calculations need to be done for a different size.

We start knitting the sweater from the bottom up, from the elastic band to the neckline.

We cast on 102 sts. We knit a 2 by 2 elastic band about 7 cm in a circle. After 50 loops, I placed markers on both sides to clearly separate the front from the back. I drew the diagram of the leaves exactly the way I wanted to knit them. On the front, as well as on the back, I included 2 rapports (2 branches with leaves). Between the rapports in front it turned out to be 2 purls. loops. And on the sides of the sweater there are 4 purl. p. If you need a sweater a little wider, you can easily add a few loops in these places and the chest circumference of the product will increase. Next we knit according to the pattern to the desired size. All purl rows are knitted according to the pattern. When knitting this pattern in the round, it will be difficult to keep track of the pattern rows and purl rows. In fact, every second (i.e. even) row will be considered purl. This can be quite difficult for those new to knitting. In this case, I can advise you to knit the product in rotating rows, i.e. separately for the back, separately for the front and then sew it together. It will be easier.
25 cm from the bottom I divided the sweater into front and back. There is no need to knit the armholes of this sweater, that is, we just continue to knit straight, first the front part separately.

Approximately 6-7 cm from the division into halves we need to close the gate opening. To do this, divide the halves into 26 sts and close in the central part like this:
Row 1: decrease 4 stitches at the beginning of the row
2 r. and all even rows: purl (no changes)
3 p.: 3 sts at the beginning of the row
5 p.: 3 p. at the beginning of the row
7 p.: 2 p. at the beginning of the row.

Further the shoulder is straight another 4-5 cm.

We close the loops of the shoulder and knit the second half of the collar and the other shoulder. Here, when forming the collar, we do all the decreases in the same way, only we do the decreases at the beginning of the purl rows (even), and we knit the front rows (odd) simply according to the pattern. After this, we perform and close the second shoulder. The back is knitted in the same way, but we begin to close the collar 8 cm from the separation of the sweater halves.

After this, we connect the shoulder seams. Now you need to cast on the loops for the collar. Carefully cast on 68 sts along the edge of the armhole. Be careful not to pull the collar. We knit 3 cm with a 2 x 2 elastic band. Close elastically.

Sleeves. For them we cast on 28 stitches on stocking needles. In a circle we knit 5 cm with an elastic band 2 by 2. Then I knitted the second sleeve in exactly the same way and after that I transferred both sleeves to 1 circular knitting needle. I did this so that the entire pattern and all the additions could be knitted simultaneously on both sleeves. This is very convenient because you don’t need to remember or write anything down, and both sleeves are knitted exactly the same way. The disadvantage of this method is that constantly moving the knitting and changing the thread after each row - this greatly slows down the work process. As a result, I knitted a branch on top of the sleeve and it turned out to be 2 repeats in height. To widen the sleeve, you need to add 16 points. The increases are distributed evenly along the entire length of the sleeve and are made at the bottom of the sleeve, in an inconspicuous place. We close the sleeves and sew them to our first part. We hide the threads and the sweater is ready! The sweater turned out to be stylish and noticeable; already on the first walk, passersby complimented it!

Dimensions

36/38 (40/42 – 44/46)

You will need

Yarn (100% wool; 95 m/50 g) – 600 (650–700) g mustard yellow; knitting needles No. 5; circular knitting needles No. 5, 40 cm long; 1 auxiliary knitting needle; beads, sequins with a diameter of 6 mm and 15 mm and glass beads with a length of 12 mm and 30 mm.

Patterns and schemes

Garter stitch

Knitting in rows in forward and reverse directions: front and back rows - front loops.

Knitting in the round: alternately 1 p. facial loops, 1 r. purl loops.

Leaves pattern

Knit according to the given pattern in rows in forward and reverse directions. Read the facial rows from right to left. In purl rows not shown in the diagram, knit loops according to the pattern, unless otherwise indicated.

Knit 1 time in the stitches of the pattern.

In height from 1st to 42nd r. perform 1 time, then from the 15th to the 42nd r. repeat 3 times, then perform 1 time from the 15th to the 40th row, while in the last repeat, starting from the 27th row, do not start a new motif, but knit on the middle 5 stitches (= 2 purl ., 1 p. remove, 2 p.) and perform increases (= knit 1 purl crossed loop from the broach). On the loops between them, knit in garter stitch.

Attention!
In the 40th r. (= purl row) knit 3 stitches together with a slant to the left, not purl, but knit. Knit 3 stitches together with a tilt to the left: remove 1 stitch, as in knitting, knit 2 stitches together, then pull the removed loop through the knitted ones.

Knitting density

17 p. x 32 r. = 10 x 10 cm, knitted in garter stitch with needles No. 5;
from the 23rd to the 37th p. of the “Leaves” pattern = 13 cm, knitted with knitting needles No. 5.

Pattern

Completing of the work

Back

On needles No. 5, cast on 81 (87–93) sts with a double thread and then knit for the bottom bar with a single thread in garter stitch, starting from the front row.

After 2.5 cm = 8 r. from the beginning of the garter stitch, continue the work, distributing the loops of the patterns as follows: edge, 14 (16–18) sts of garter stitch, 23 sts of the “Leaves” pattern, 5 (7–9) sts of garter stitch, 23 sts of the pattern “Leaves”, 14 (16–18) stitches in garter stitch, edging.

After 26 cm = 84 r. from the cast-on row, make on both sides for armholes according to the mark and continue working as before (see also the description of the “Leaves” pattern in height).

After 48 (49–50) cm = 154 (156–160) r. from the cast-on row, close on both sides for shoulder bevels, first 4 (6–8) sts, then in every 2nd r. 6 more times, 4 p. = 25 (27–29) p.

Simultaneously with the 4th shoulder decrease, leave the middle 19 (21–23) stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

To round the neckline, close from the inner edge in every 2nd r. 1 time 2 p. and 1 time 1 p. (all loops are closed).

Before

Knit as for the back, but for a deeper neckline, lower the last two motifs in the “Leaves” pattern in the middle and after 46 (47–48) cm = 148 (150–154) r. temporarily leave the middle 15 (17–19) sts.

Finish both sides separately and, to round the neck, close from the inner edge in every 2nd r. 1 time 2 p. and 3 times 1 p.

Perform the shoulder bevel as on the back.

Finish the second side symmetrically.

Sleeves

On needles No. 5, cast on 44 (48–52) sts with a double thread and then knit with a single thread in garter stitch, starting from the front row.

At 8 p.m. From the cast-on row, add 1 stitch on both sides for bevels, then in every 8th row. 14 more times, 1 p. = 74 (78–82) p.

After 44 (45–46) cm = 140 (144–148) r. From the cast-on row, close all the loops in one row.

Knit the second sleeve in the same way.

Assembly

Pin the details onto the pattern, moisten and leave until dry.

Sew shoulder seams.

On circular needles No. 5, transfer the remaining 19 (21–23) sts of the back and 15 (17–19) sts of the front and between them along the edge of the neck, cast on another 24 sts = 82 (86–90) sts. Knit in the round garter stitch binding and after 3 cm = 9 r. close the loops.

Sew side seams to marks. Sew the sleeve seams. Sew in the sleeves. Fasten the ends of the threads.

Embroider the front of the pullover with beads, glass beads and sequins, as in the photo or at random.

Here is a video with a detailed analysis of knitting leaves

Scheme of leaves with video

Here is a video of knitting such a sweater - size 46, lanagold classic yarn

Well, now, let's start selecting yarn and making calculations.
As I see it, this sweater can be knitted from a wide variety of yarns, the main thing is to knit a sample and calculate everything for your specific yarn, knitting needles and knitting density.

When calculating the quantity of a sweater needed for this, I relied on the information in this post, where a girl had already knitted such a sweater Http://www.stranamam.ru/post/12192503/

So, there was yarn 50g - 225 m, in two threads, consumption of 14 skeins (700 grams).
Thus, with a meter of 100 g - 225 m, the total length of the thread is 1575 meters.
Based on this calculation, it is possibleapproximatelyestimate how much yarn we need of different sizes:
yardage 100 g - 175 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 175 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 900 g of yarn
yardage 100 g - 200 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 200 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 800 g of yarn
yardage 100 g - 225 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 225 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 700 g of yarn
yardage 100 g - 250 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 250 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 650 g of yarn
yardage 100 g - 275 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 275 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 600 g of yarn
yardage 100 g - 300 m (knitting in 1 thread), 50 g - 300 m (knitting in 2 threads) - 600 g of yarn in total
yardage 100 g - 450 m (knitting in 2 threads) - total 750 g of yarn

For this sweater I bought Superlambs Special Nako yarn (49% wool 51% acrylic), 100 g - 200 m, color like this, 181.

Now calculations

The top photo is my drawing. These are the measurements of the girl for whom the sweater is knitted, size 40-42.
The bottom picture is already in cm, what a sweater should be, according to my calculations...

I want to make the elastic tighter so that it holds the sweater a little, and it slouches a little on top. I added 5 cm to the overlap. I calculated the width of the fabric as follows: chest volume + 20% + 2 cm for stitching.
I’m not sure about the neckline yet, we’ll see as we knit.

Now we knit a sample. Girls, I highly recommend doing this! This will help avoid unnecessary work. Yes, maybe you’re lazy, you don’t want to wait until you knit it until it dries... but have mercy on yourself and your work!

My sample

After we have washed the sample, we steam it (if the yarn allows) and now we can take measurements. I took measurements in a fixed form, as in the photo, that is, I stretched it a little. I was probably lucky with the yarn, because both before and after the second the sample sizes are the same.

Below are my calculations of the loops based on the sample sizes and measurements.

Well, now you can get started!

At the bottom I will have a 2*2 elastic band, then a pattern of leaves on a branch of 3 knit stitches, the leaves will be parallel to each other, I think it will be possible to fit 3 pairs of leaves. Knitting needles for elastic band No. 4, for main fabric No. 5

Based on the available patterns and the knitting pattern in the video above, I made a diagram of the leaf, enlarging it a little. The diagram shows only knit rows, purl rows are knitted according to the pattern. The second leaf is knitted in a mirror image.

Here's my start. Having knitted one repeat of leaves, I tried it on, everything agrees with my calculations, so I knit further

I immediately knitted one report, after finishing the leaf I started knitting a second one, but it seemed to me that they were spaced too widely. So I started knitting the second leaf on the 33rd row of the pattern (the one I drew with a pen). In the end it turned out what is in the photo, I liked it better length 27 cm.

Here it is ready before!
I closed the neck according to the diagram below. Since the neck will be tied with an elastic band, its depth is suitable, well, I think

I closed the neck of the back using the same pattern, only I closed the loops not so deep, but higher.

I immediately made the sleeve straight, without widening, but it didn’t look very nice and was tight. That's why I made an extension.

For the sleeve, I cast on 32 stitches and knitted 13 rows with an elastic band. Then add loops up to 45 (27 - repeat, 9 purl on each side). And we knit three leaves.
And when the fourth sheet begins, its first row, this will be the first row in the following increase pattern:

We make increases on both sides (near the edge) in the following rows - 3,7,11,15,19,23,27,31,35,37,39,41. We knit a total of 45 rows and close the loops.

The next stage for me was the WTO. I washed parts of the sweater in cold water with shampoo, let the excess water drain off and dried them on a horizontal surface. Then I steamed all the parts, especially the edges because they will need to be sewn together.

Having sewn the two halves of the hangers on top, I began to tie the neckline.

Back

Cast on 96 (104) 112 sts on the knitting needles and knit for a 4 cm strap with an elastic band = 10 r., while in the last row evenly add 4 (6) 8 sts = 100 (110) 120 sts.

Continue knitting, observing the following sequence of patterns: edge stitch, 12 (17) 22 stitches in stockinette stitch, 31 stitches in “Leaves” pattern, 12 stitches in stockinette stitch, 31 stitches in “Leaves” pattern, 12 (17) 22 stitches in knit stitch satin stitch, edge stitch.

After 27.5 cm = 72 r. close from the elastic on both sides for armholes, 5 p. = 90 (100) 110 p.

After 46 cm = 120 rub. (47.5 cm = 124 rub.) 49 cm = 128 rub. from the elastic band on both sides, close 4 sts for shoulder bevels and in every 2nd p. 4 x 4 (5) 6 p.

After 50 cm = 130 rub. (51.5 cm = 134 rub.) 53 cm = 138 rub. close off the remaining 50 (52) 54 sts from the elastic, with the middle 42 sts forming the neckline, and the outer 4 (5) 6 sts belonging to the shoulders.

Before

Knit the same as the back, but with a neckline. To do this, after 40 cm = 104 rubles. (41.5 cm = 108 rub.) 43 cm = 112 rub. close off the middle 20 stitches from the bar and finish both sides separately.

To round the cutout along the inner edge, close in every 2nd r. 1 x 3 p., 2 x 2 p. and 4 x 1 p.

Close the remaining 4 (5) 6 stitches of the shoulder at the same height as on the back.

Sleeves

Cast on 44 (48) 52 loops on the knitting needles for each sleeve and knit 10 cm = 26 r for the strap. with an elastic band, while in the last row evenly add 9 (11) 13 sts = 53 (59) 65 sts.

Continue knitting, observing the following sequence of patterns: edge stitch, 10 (13) 16 stitches in stockinette stitch, 31 stitches in the “Leaves” pattern, 10 (13) 16 stitches in stockinette stitch, edge stitch.

At the same time, for the bevels of the sleeves from the bar, add 11 x on both sides in every 8th r. 1 p. of front stitch = 75 (81) 87 p.

After 38 cm = 98 rub. Close all loops from the bar.

Assembly

Sew shoulder seams. Along the edge of the neckline, cast on 100 stitches on circular needles and knit 3 cm = 8 rounds. with an elastic band, then knit all the stitches.

Sew in the sleeves, sew side seams and sleeve seams.
