When choosing a material for working with “adult” things, for example, for ourselves or our friends, we rarely choose non-standard material compositions or bright color combinations. Not everyone was lucky enough to work with yarn for knitting children's things or toys, therefore, I propose to knit a bright, very warm and cozy children's scarf with knitting needles. Please your child, or make a nice gift to your friend young mother. 
Knitting a baby scarf
We knit a children's scarf with knitting needles based on a unique master class from Ekaterina Kuryleva.
To begin with, we will choose a warm, soft "plush" yarn for knitting children's things. Despite the artificial composition, it is absolutely hypoallergenic, does not irritate the skin, does not cause itching, retains heat well, and, which is important for children's things, is very simple and unpretentious in care. Our
from Bambi yarn from the Nazar brand, rich green color. This color is suitable for both boys and girls. In a 142m/50g skein, one will be enough for us to knit a scarf for a child.

For decor in the form of strawberries, you will need yarn of any composition in red, white and green. These can be small balls, which usually remain from knitting large things, the use of which is usually very difficult to find. I think every craftswoman understands what we are talking about! For the template, you will need cardboard, as well as scissors and a hook.
Our children's scarf has a clasp, so it will fit snugly around the neck, do not fall off or twist. You can choose what it will be: hooks, buttons, buttons or Velcro.
The pattern in which this scarf is knitted is called "fur". The product turns out not only very original, but also incredibly warm, because each loop gives additional volume. The scheme for this pattern is not required, just carefully read the description. We start knitting with a set of knitting needles 31 loops. In order to knit the fabric using the fur technique, cast on an odd number of loops. We will knit the entire next row with facial loops. 
We turn the canvas over and start knitting loops of "fur". We remove the edge, in the next loop we introduce the knitting needle behind the front wall and immediately throw a working thread on it. Now we wrap the thread around the index and middle fingers in two turns and knit the two loops formed with the front. 
Next front loop (LP). Further, we continue the pattern and the alternation of the “fur” element and the LP to the end of the row. In the next row, we knit all the LP for the front wall. We carefully hold the loops of the "fur" with your finger and knit the LP. We knit a row of purl loops (IP). All LP again. Next comes a row of "fur". 
We continue to knit the fabric according to the principle: one row of “fur”, three rows of front stitch. Knit in height as much as you need to completely cover the neck of the child. As a result, we fold the canvas to make such a tight-fitting scarf. Now you need to make a clasp. Here you can sew on a few buttons, hooks, or what is even more convenient for a mobile baby - Velcro. 
Let's decorate our scarf with a bright pom-pom in the form of a strawberry. Such a decorative element is more suitable for a girl, but for a boy, according to the same principle, you can make a pompom in the form of a soccer ball. Many needlewomen have had to make pompoms with their own hands more than once, but not everyone knows that there is a certain scheme, and if you follow the correct alternation of colors, you can get such an accessory. Such pompoms can decorate any children's clothing: hats, mittens, sweaters. And yet, you can make pompoms with children, especially this activity should captivate girls.
Let's start by cutting out two pom-pom templates from cardboard. And here is the yarn winding pattern. Pass a green thread between the patterns, at the end of the work we will fix its pompom. We start with red yarn. Wrap it tightly around the template in two rows. 
Now we need white yarn. Make it four turns around the template. Now again tightly wrap the red thread in two rows. We make four more turns with a white thread. And again red yarn. 
We wrap green yarn several times on one side of the template. Using a hook, fix the free edges of the threads. The green thread that we put between the templates at the beginning needs to be pulled towards each other. With scissors, cut all the turns of threads from above. We tightly tie a green thread into several knots. 
It turns out here is such a pompom. 
Now, with the help of scissors, you need to “cut” the pompom so that its shape resembles a strawberry. 
It remains to sew a strawberry to the finished product. You can make several of these strawberries and sew them around the edge.

I don’t give any schemes for the hat, they simply don’t exist, because it is completely knitted from the head, but I took pictures in the course of knitting and now I will try to give a small master class. To be honest, this will be my first master class, not the most specific, but quite understandable. I will not show how the simplest loops are knitted, but I will only show what parts the cap consists of, how to put them all together and the stages of knitting it.
When choosing threads for the inner layer of the cap, it must be taken into account that the resulting fabric is not sharp. For this, I used Olga Semenovskaya yarn, it is soft, not prickly, pleasant to the body and warm.
Let's get started :-)
Dial a chain of air loops equal to the volume of the child’s head and knit a hat with double crochets, from bottom to top, without decreases or additions. We get such a cylinder - this is the inner layer of the future cap
The same thing, top view, leave the loops open for now and move to the opposite end of our cap (to the place where we started, to the chain of air loops)
From here, with a thread of a different color, we begin to knit the outer layer of the cap. Its volume should be larger, therefore, having tied the thread and starting to knit the first row, we immediately make an increase every 10 columns.
After the first row of the outer layer is knitted, knit with an elastic band 2x2 10 rows. When the gum is ready, we continue and knit the most time-consuming stage of the whole work - the fluffy edge with elongated loops. To do this, continuing to knit with elongated loops, towards the end of the cap we replace them with single crochets, so we knit the middle of the cap with elongated loops, and its sides with single crochets.

We connect the two sides of the outer layer of the cap from the inside with connecting posts.
We turn the hat inside out and put the inner (white) layer of the hat into the outer (blue-white). It becomes obvious that the open sides of the inner layer (the loops that we left open) also need to be sewn together.
Separately, we make ears for the hat, we knit details - only 4 pieces (2 white and 2 of a different color).
The first 5 rows of ears are connected with single crochets, straight, without decreases or additions. And we knit the remaining rows with double crochets, subtracting 1 column at the end of each row.
We connect the two parts of the ear on the inside
But we sew (or knit with connecting posts) not to the end, but only half. From the narrow end of the cap we drag (thread) the yarn cut into separate threads into the inside of the ears. I managed to drag 45 threads like this.
We tie the threads inside the ears into knots.
We braid the long ends of the threads from the outside into a pigtail, and at the end we also make a knot. We sew our ear to the end, leaving only the widest edge unsewn, which will be attached to the cap. We get like this (from the inside)
Similarly, we knit the second ear. We turn the ears on the front side and already with a needle with the same thread we sew to the cap

The hat is ready! If desired, you can sew toy eyes on it.
We recommend a project in which you can make a real knitted scarf from knitting threads! You will also need wide tubes for cocktails and scissors. In the process of work, the child will train dexterity of hands and fingers, attentiveness, patience. The finished product can be worn as a scarf for soft toys or as warm outerwear for dolls.
Materials:
- thick knitting threads;
- wide tubes - 5 pieces;
- scissors.
Working process:
Cut five strands of 50 cm each from the skein of yarn. This will be the base of the scarf. We stretch each thread into a separate tube, leave about 7 cm on one side and tie it together with strong knots.
We cut off a thread about 70 cm long from the skein. We tie it to a strong knot on top of the product. We begin to wind on the tubes perpendicularly, through one: under the first tube, the thread passes from below, above the second from above - we adhere to this order all the time. At the end of each row, tighten the loops with a slight effort.
Periodically we shift our loops up so that it is convenient to continue the scarf. When the length of the tubes ends, we evenly lower them down, and the finished part of the product, respectively, up. When you reach the intended length, remove the tubes, and you can braid the stock of main threads into a braid. Or just tie in knots, as we did with the second edge of the scarf at the beginning of the project.
Try your knitted scarf on toys: for the big ones it will become a warm scarf, and for the smaller ones it will become a whole knitted cape. Attach a button if it is more comfortable and prettier. Due to the fact that the scarf consists entirely of eyelets, the button can be fastened anywhere in the product. Now in cool weather, the child's toys will look really cozy!

1. We knit 15 air loops. Plus 3 loops instead of a double crochet for the first row. Next, 2 more VPs, skip 2 VPs in the chain, and on the third we knit a double crochet. So knit to the end of the row: 2 VP, skip 2 loops and tie a column with a crochet. Repeat all following rows. Double crochet stitches over double crochet stitches. It turns out a grid.
2. Now we turn the knitting and knit the border along the scarf. First, we tie the edge with simple columns. in each "cell" there are 3 columns without a crochet.
3. We knit the next row with double crochets. We increase the number of loops exactly twice. That is, from each loop of the previous row we knit 2 CHs (a double crochet).
4. We knit this row like the previous one. Again, double the number of loops.
5. We knit the last row with the same double crochets, but we increase the number of loops by 1.5 times. From the two loops of the previous row we knit 3 loops.
Everything, the scarf is ready.

With the advent of autumn, I got such a bright set for a girl. I used threads Children's novelty from Pekhorka, which included 100% high-volume acrylic and hook No. 2. According to the composition, it is clear that the thread is not particularly warm

How to crochet a simple scarf
