Look from afar - an interesting belt with a pattern. But taking a closer look, you realize that it is made from the smallest grains of multi-colored beads. And such painstaking work attracts your attention and fascinates you for a long time. So why not try to create such beauty with your own hands? A beaded belt fits perfectly into many wardrobes and many styles. And in the eyes of others, you will be the owner of a truly chic accessory.
Basic techniques for creating an embroidered belt
There are several ways to create a unique wardrobe item. They will differ in the time spent, resources, and your imagination. You can always combine several techniques into a single one, then you will get an original thing as a result. Check out the main options for making a beaded belt:
- woven fabric made of beads and nylon thread or fishing line for weaving,
- openwork weaving from the same materials,
- bead embroidery on satin ribbon,
- bead embroidery on a leather belt,
- belt made using soutache technique.
Of course, such accessories will not be superfluous in your wardrobe. Therefore, pay detailed attention to the method you like.
Solid fabric of beads
In addition to beads and fishing line, you will need accessories, scissors and needles. The very essence of weaving is as follows. You put as many beads on the first row as the width of the belt itself. The second and all subsequent rows are created by adding two beads at a time. Thus, it looks like a woven scarf made entirely of beads.
A separate nuance worth noting is the creation of holes in the belt made of beads. Like a regular belt, you need gaps for fasteners. This is done by simply skipping two beads in a row. You adjust the frequency and number of such holes to suit your needs.
The result is a magnificent accessory consisting of continuous rows of beads. You can approach creating such a thing in another way. Try weaving a similar belt on a special machine. This method takes less time, but will not affect the quality at all.
Color and story lines of beaded fabric
In this matter, everyone will decide for themselves. Some choose monotonous one-color belts, others prefer to combine several shades of the same color. Still others make a beaded belt with some kind of design or pattern.
Among the variety of patterns for your accessory, there are the most used ones, for example, floral motifs can be classified as classics of the genre. Embroidered animals or birds, as well as imitation skin patterns, are no less popular. Ornaments on belts remain relevant and fashionable. Abstract geometric or openwork patterns are used as a universal scheme.
You can use ready-made schemes or come up with your own. You can select and replace with your favorite colors in the finished pattern or leave the original source. Everything is left entirely at your discretion.
In other words, instead of a solid fabric of beads, you decorate your waist with a figured beaded belt. So now, instead of choosing a pattern pattern, you focus your attention on stitching the repeating beaded element. These can be interconnected flowers, geometric details or any other elements made of beads.
Such belts look great in monochrome; for example, a translucent white belt will be an excellent addition to a bride’s costume. Use bright and rich colors such as yellow, orange, light green, blue. And your accessory will become indispensable in summer outfits. Black or black and white belts will perfectly complement and diversify the official style, adding some zest to the business look.
Satin belt embroidered with beads
This option is perfect for those who want to use a colored backing under a layer of beads. Since there will be gaps between the beads, the background will be slightly visible. Therefore, satin ribbon will serve as an excellent material for embroidering pictures or patterns of your future accessory.
Among other things, you can make a belt that will hold its shape better, unlike beaded fabric. To do this, you will need two strips of fabric and a strip of a more durable material, such as foam rubber or thick cardboard.
Leather and glass beads
An interesting combination is a beaded belt on a leather backing. You can use a finished belt as a base. Or you can do all the necessary preparatory work yourself from a piece of leather.
In this case, keep in mind that leather is a fairly durable and thick material. Therefore, embroidering will be a little more difficult than on fabric.
Beaded elements
Some people like a continuous fabric of beads, while others would prefer to embroider the belt with beads in fragments. In other words, your openwork belt is placed on top of another base - leather, fabric or another belt.
This method of creating a belt is good because the embroidered pattern will look more voluminous and more impressive than in a solid beaded belt.
You can use any motifs, patterns, ornaments. Try to use a fragment of the picture you like and simply repeat it throughout the entire belt.
Using soutache technique
This technique is distinguished by its sophistication and elegance of lines. Accessories made using the soutache technique perfectly complement the wardrobe of both graceful girls and respectable older ladies.
You can create a chic buckle for your belt, make the belt entirely from soutache cord, beads, cabochons. In order for the product to retain its original shape, secure your embroidery to a reliable material. Again, this could be a strong leather belt, reinforced satin ribbons or felt lining.
Products made from beads are especially popular. They evoke admiring glances, amaze with their beauty, and are impossible not to admire. From the bottom you can weave jewelry, keychains, souvenirs and even a belt. It will take a little longer to weave the belt, but it's worth it. A belt woven from beads will make any outfit spectacular.
To weave a belt you will need:
- black and gold beads;
- faceted beads of black and golden color;
- large faceted beads of black and golden color;
- six metal buttons or plaques;
- golden pendants;
- beading needle;
- nylon thread;
- wire cutters
How to weave a belt:
1. Use wire cutters to remove excess fasteners from metal plaques.
2. Next, we braid them with black beads in a cross pattern. We fix one bead on the thread, threading the needle through it twice, and collect an even number of beads. In this case, the brooch should fit freely into the ring obtained by connecting them. We collect a bead and insert a needle into the bead that goes through one from the last one.
3. We string one more thing and again insert the needle into the bead located one after the other from the bead from which the thread comes out.
4. We close the chain into a ring and weave three more rows.
5. Next, so that the brooch does not fall out of the ring, we need to make a tie: weave according to the instructions described, passing every 2nd bead and passing the needle through 2. In the next row we need to weave faceted black beads, alternating them with golden beads. We put the brooch in the ring and make two more rows of ties. We stretch the thread and secure its ends.
6. In all brooches we make a pendant from 5 beaded threads. We attach them to the brooch and collect one golden bead, one large black bead, one golden bead - we wove the base for the pendant from beaded threads. Now we need to make bead threads for the pendant: to do this, we put ten black beads on a thread, alternating them with one golden color (two and three at the ends). We finish the bead thread with one faceted golden bead and one black bead. We pass the needle in the opposite direction without threading it into the last bead. Similarly, we make four more of the same beaded threads, threading the needle through the base of the pendant and securing the thread to the brooch.
7. Connecting the brooches. We fasten the thread at an angle of one hundred and twenty degrees from the lower suspension. We collect a connecting element (the technique of weaving a connecting element is described in the sixth paragraph), two times forty black beads, separating and finishing with a connecting element. We fasten the thread at the same point on the other brooch. We pass the thread through all the connecting elements in the opposite direction, adding threads of forty beads in each row. There should be five rows.
8. Make a loop of four rows of beads on one side of the belt. They need to be done in the same way as the connections of brooches and pendants (see paragraphs 6.7). We use connecting elements with large black and golden beads. We make the tips of the brushes with golden pendants.
The beaded belt is ready!
Materials and tools for a beaded belt:
white beads with a diameter of 3 mm - 130-150 g,
steel-colored beads with a diameter of 2 mm - 100-120 g,
white monofilament with a diameter of 0.25 mm, length 50-60 m,
steel buckle,
needles for weaving - 2 pcs.

We start working with white beads. Taking a thread with 2 needles at the ends, we make a mesh in the form of squares. We string 8 beads onto the middle of the thread and pass the left thread through the 2 outer beads on the right thread. We pull the threads. The result was the first square (Fig. 1).
Then we string 4 beads on the right thread, 2 on the left thread and pull the left thread through the 2 outer beads on the right thread. The second square is ready (Fig. 2). Do 5 squares in the same way. On the fifth square, we cross the threads in two side beads (Fig. 3). This is the first row.
We perform the second row: we string 6 beads on the right thread and draw the left thread towards the right thread through the 2 outer beads. We pull the threads. The result is the first square of the second row (Fig. 4).
Next, we string 4 beads onto the right thread, and pass the left one through the 2 side beads of the previous row and the 2 outer beads on the right thread. The result is the second square of the second row (Fig. 5). We do the rest of the squares in the same way. In this way we weave a mesh of squares 70 cm long.

Next, first on one side, then on the other at the ends of the white mesh, we weave a mesh of steel-colored beads. We also weave it in the form of squares (photo 6). At one end, the length of the mesh is 17.5 cm. We make the tip in the form of a cone (photo 7).
We bring the threads from the fifth square to the fourth, crossing the threads in the two outer beads. We string 6 beads onto the left thread, and put the right one into the 2 outer beads (Fig. 8).
Next, we string 4 beads onto the left thread, and pass the right one through the 2 side beads of the previous row and the 2 outer beads on the left thread (Fig. 9).
Then we pass the right thread through the 2 side beads of the previous row and string 4 beads on it. We thread the left thread into the 2 outer beads on the right thread. We get 3 squares (Fig. 10). We finish the cone with 1 square. We draw 2 threads into the 2 outer beads of the second square.
We string 6 beads onto the right thread and secure both threads with a knot (Fig. 11).
Buckle.
On the other side, at the end of the white mesh, we weave a mesh of steel beads in the form of squares. Its length is 13 cm. We wrap the mesh around the buckle and fasten it on the wrong side (photo 12).
We string 1 bead onto the right thread, then thread it into the 2 side beads of the main fabric. Next, string 1 more bead onto the right thread. We thread the left thread into the same bead. We draw the threads respectively from the right side into the 2 outer beads and from the left side into the 2 outer beads. We fasten the rest of the part in the same way and tie a knot at the end (Fig. 13).

At the next stage, we draw with steel beads on a white mesh. We start weaving from the middle of the white mesh using the overlay method. We thread the thread into the bottom square into 2 horizontal beads from right to left.
We string 3 beads, then thread the needle into 2 parallel beads of the square diagonally (Fig. 14).
Then we string 1 bead, thread the thread into the bead in the middle, string 1 more bead and thread the thread obliquely into 2 beads of the square (Fig. 15).
Then we bring the thread into the second square of the next strip and thus make an overlay of steel beads according to the diagram (Fig. 16). When the rhombus is ready, we retreat 2 squares on both sides and weave half-diamonds (photo 17, fig. 18, 19).
From the pattern in the middle we retreat 5.5 cm in both directions. Next, first on one side, then on the other, we weave a pattern consisting of two stripes (photo 20). We fasten the thread on the lower square on two horizontal beads from right to left, string 3 beads, thread the thread into 2 parallel beads of the square slightly diagonally to the square (see Fig. 14). Then we string 3 more beads and thread them into 2 beads parallel to the bottom beads, diagonally from the next square.
We perform all 5 squares in the same way, moving from bottom to top (Fig. 21).
Next we weave from top to bottom. We string 1 bead and thread it through the second bead of three steel beads.
We string 1 more bead, thread it through 2 white beads of the square (at the bottom obliquely) (see Fig. 15). In a similar way we weave all 5 squares to the very bottom (Fig. 22). Next, we step 1 square to the side and weave a second strip of steel beads in the same way (photo 23).
Then we step back from the pattern with stripes another 5.5 cm and weave a pattern consisting of a rhombus on one side and two half-diamonds and a belt on the other side (photo 24).
Belt belt.
To secure the tip of the belt, we weave a chain of squares. We string 8 steel beads, taking a thread with 2 needles at the ends, draw the left thread through the 2 outer beads on the right thread. Pull it well. The result is the first square (see Fig. 1). Then we string 4 beads on the right thread, 2 on the left thread and pull the left thread through the 2 outer beads on the right thread. The result is a second square (see Fig. 2). Thus we weave 6 squares.
Then we make 1 half-square: string 3 beads on the right thread, 1 bead on the left thread, pull the left thread through the 2 outer beads on the right thread (Fig. 25).
We weave 6 more squares. We connect the chain with a half square. We string 1 bead on the right thread and 1 bead on the left thread. We thread the right thread into the 2 outer beads of the beginning of the chain. The result is 1 square. Then we thread the left thread on the other side. Fasten it well (Fig. 26). The connection is made by putting the chain directly on the belt (photo 27).

Belt weaving pattern
Today we will make such a useful accessory as a belt. We suggest starting our training in weaving belts with beads using fairly simple examples. For example, let's create this stylish “snake” belt.
For the first time I realized that indeed, belts can be woven from beads, and how charming and original they are!
To weave our belt we use the mosaic weaving technique.
Below is a diagram with a “snake” motif, according to which it is quite clear how to weave a “snake” belt from beads.

That's it, our “snake” beaded belt is ready! It goes great with jeans or a matching dress. If you don’t like this motif at all, you can easily replace it. To do this, you just need to transfer the desired drawing to the proposed diagram. These can be floral motifs, rainbow colors, and various ornaments. Thus, you can create a whole collection of unique belts for every outfit and appropriate occasion.

A beaded belt is an adornment that can add individuality to any girl. You can weave it using a special frame. Craftswomen use patterns and create unique products from beads, glass beads and seed beads.
To complete a beadwork master class, prepare the following materials and tools:
- beads of amber, pistachio, brown, terracotta, white, pink, and shades of green;
- pistachio chopped –50 grams;
- large faceted beads;
- connecting strips made of suede in dark green shades.
Features of creating a belt using the beading technique
Each needlewoman, if desired, will add beads of other shades to the weaving. It all depends on the personal preferences and capabilities of the craftswoman. Before starting needlework, determine the length of the belt. The peculiarity of the model in ethnic style is that each detail is made separately. Once you have weaved the pieces, start assembling them into one whole product.
Belt weaving technique
Beading will have to be done using corner motifs. Below is a simple and clear technique for such a process:
- Thread the transverse strip straight to the knots.
- Weave the bottom rows short. To do this, beading is done by decreasing one cell at a time. The length of the strip is calculated as desired.
- The angle on the strip appears symmetrical without taking into account the shape of the ligament. Weaving occurs in longitudinal rows.
- Take some corner beads for needlework so that the corner retains its original shape.
- The second row of weaving is done by adding two bundles. They should be located opposite the lower corner beads.
- Weaving continues in a similar manner.
Simple versions of belts are woven on a frame of simple design. If the product is long and has complex weaving, it is made on improved frames.
Schemes for forming belts from beads and seed beads
Schemes help needlewomen not to get confused in colors and weaving directions. A belt made of shiny small beads is in great demand because it looks impressive with elegant clothes.
