DIY construction tool belt. Choosing a tool belt. Carrier for nail technicians

A tool belt is an irreplaceable thing for any builder; a necessary tool and components should always be at hand during both routine repairs and professional builders. There are several types of tool belts, they differ from each other, let's try to understand their varieties, help you make a choice and how to make a tool belt yourself.

But you can find a photo of the tool belt for a visual representation in our gallery.

Construction tool belt

The requirements for a construction belt are high; it must be carefully thought out when creating it to prevent the builder from falling from a height in the event of a force majeure situation and allow him to take with him the necessary tool for work.

Oddly enough, there are strict regulations for sewing a construction belt, since this item is often subjected to heavy loads during work. It is imperative that only high-quality and durable elements are used to sew a belt, so there is no need to worry that the fastening is made of light alloy and will not be able to hold the load.

A construction belt without straps, on which a button is attached, prevents you from unfastening the belt while working. A construction belt with shoulder straps is additionally attached to the chest and back, does not limit movement during work and allows you to use a larger number of tools.

The mounting options for construction belts are different: on the side or on the back; choose a belt directly related to the type of work being performed, but the optimal one would be a belt with two fastenings.

The capacity of the tools will depend on the number and size of pockets on the belt; many different-sized pockets mean more capacity for the tools. For example, a dewalt tool belt will be a great help.

Features of the mounting belt

A tool mounting belt can not only help with work, but also comply with basic safety rules when working, this is especially necessary when working at height.

Before choosing such a belt, you need to know exactly the specifics of the work and consult with an experienced consultant who will help you choose a high-quality belt with reliable fastenings and their convenient placement, depending on the specifics of the work.

Particular attention should be paid to the marking of the product; it usually indicates the rating of the rafters and the material from which they are made (“A” - synthetic tape, “B” - steel rope, “C” - polyamide rope, “D” - steel chain ).

All fastenings, tapes and carabiners on the belt must be undamaged, free of rust and not jammed, so it is necessary to carefully check the product before purchasing.

Caring for the mounting belt is not difficult, it is enough to use ordinary soap and water, it is important to remember that chemicals and drying on batteries will quickly cause it to wear out. Periodically inspect the belt for damage or jamming. It is enough to check once every 2 months.

How to make a tool belt

Instead of buying in stores, you can make a tool belt with your own hands. You don't need any great sewing skills here and almost any materials will do (old jeans, belts, canvas and much more). Such belts will be good for use at home, in the country, in the garage.

The easiest way is to use a tool belt made from old jeans.

You will need jeans, a sewing machine, and scissors. We cut off the belt from the jeans; it will perform its function; using the existing fastener, the belt will be fixed at the waist.

We cut off a small piece of fabric from one trouser leg, fold it in half, forming a pocket, leaving 2 centimeters on top to connect the future pocket with the belt, sew the pocket on the sides and lay a couple of vertical seams, dividing it into two more pockets into which you can put small-sized tools.

A simple tool belt is ready; you can add different pockets to such a belt to suit your taste.

Well, which belt is better, the choice is yours. The main criteria for choosing a belt: the specifics of the work, first of all, then the functionality and capacity of the tools, and then working with the tool will not bother you.

You may ask, why not buy online? “Very expensive and long,” I answer. Also, another reason is that you won’t try it by touch, you won’t experience the strength of the material. Therefore, there was no talk of buying a new one, since they are all expensive and many of them do not correspond to the quality and strength of the material as they say on the website. You will ask again, why not try the product and if you don’t like it, send it back? The answer is the same, it's time and money. Yes, of course you can go and buy it at the store. There are slightly fewer of them than the population in the area. That works out to 3-4 people per store. But one thing is, when you need something, you won’t find anything in them during the day, but they are full of all sorts of nonsense.

So why did I need it? Read on.

In addition to the robot, I had a small shop and I worked there with many tools, mainly spanners, a hammer, pliers and a robot machine with a bandage tape. All work was carried out from the assembly manholes. The first day I only used my working two-sling belt, but it turned out to be not very suitable for such work. All the small hooks immediately broke off and I had to carry everything in my pockets, otherwise. The next day the bag came out of the gas mask, and that was also not the case. The bag is good, but again not for keys, until you find what you need, which is time, and time, as everyone knows, is money. That's exactly why I decided to make this accessory myself from what I had, as they say, for myself. Worn as an additional one if robots are carried out at heights. If on the ground, then no problem at all.

How to make a tool belt with your own hands?

  • The next step was to make pockets for a hammer and pliers from the straps of an old backpack that I had been carrying for more than seven years; I got a good one, which is a rarity these days.

  • In the remaining space I attached two pockets for small parts, staples and clips, punctures, etc., which I made from my wife’s old handbag.

Agree, it turned out well, you can even compete with some companies.

Best regards, Oleg Lemishko.

Convenient carrying and transportation of tools and small parts for construction and installation work is possible with the help of a tool belt. This is especially true when working at heights and in confined spaces.

Any master will appreciate such a device, since it makes minor repairs or high-altitude work much more comfortable. It is easy to remove the necessary tool from the belt pocket, as well as put it back, freeing your hands for further work.

How to choose a tool belt?

A tool belt bag is much more convenient than a regular tool belt, since it allows you to easily use all the necessary tools without lowering or lifting if you have to work at height.

It’s hard to imagine any electrical installation or high-rise construction work without a belt bag. Moreover, all the tools are evenly distributed in it, so that these 3-5 kg of weight do not put unnecessary pressure on the builder’s lower back.

When choosing a mounting belt for a tool, make sure that its cut is wide. This will provide rigid support to your lower spine and back in general.

The bag itself should be made of heavy-duty material, such as full-grain leather or tough nylon, that will not absorb oil or moisture, keeping you dry in all circumstances and weather conditions.

The material should not be subject to deformation during operation. In addition, there should be a lining fabric inside the bag, for example, mesh or elastic microfiber.

To adjust the belt-bag to your specific parameters, it must have an adjustable size. The adjustment process should be carried out without much effort, and reliable fastening is possible thanks to the presence of Velcro, carabiners and latches. Slings and belts must be secured with steel rivets.

A leather tool belt can be used quite successfully during various construction and installation works. The number of pockets may vary, but there should be at least 10 of them. They should all have different sizes so that they can conveniently store various tools and consumables.

Best Tool Belts

Do you have a handyman in your home? Does he need a simple belt tool?

Here's how I made mine:

Cut 2 pieces of fabric that is 13 x 11 cm and another that is 10 x 11 inches. Fold each piece in half along the 13 and 10 inch sides.... so the pieces are still 11 cm wide. Iron apartment.

Then cut a piece of fabric that coordinates is 1.5 x 11 inches to create a piece of binding. Fold in half length wise and iron flat. Then fold the raw edges over again and iron flat again.

Place this binding in the top fold of the short piece, making sure that one tie is in behind the piece and the other is in the front. Sew along the bottom edge.

Then cut another piece of your coordinating fabric that is 3 inches wide and 5 inches long. Fold in half with wrong sides facing each other. Then sew the edges together along the long side using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Turn right side and iron flat.

Fold in half a loop and pin to the edge of that bound part, about half an inch below the binding. Make sure your cycle is inward.

Then sew in place to hold it in place while completing the tool belt.

Then open the larger pieces and line the smaller piece along the bottom edge of the larger piece. Divide this section into three parts and contact points to honor the division.

Make a straight seam from the base, up to the top of the binding. This will give you your three pockets.

Then fold the larger piece down on top of the smaller piece and line along the edge at the bottom and sides.

Sew along the edge with the hammer loop, the entire bottom, and then part on the other side. (Use 1/2 inch seam allowance). Make sure to stitch together that bottom corner on the second side to ensure a nice crisp corner after turning it on the right side.

Clip the two bottom corners.

And then turn the right side, the corners stick out, nice and clear.

Iron flat and then stitch all the way along the sides and bottom, quite close to the edge.

Then cut another piece of focal fabric that is 1.5 x 45 inches. (Keep in mind that you can put two pieces together to make a piece that is 45 inches long in case you use smaller pieces of scrap metal). Fold it the same way you made the binding at the top.....and then center it over the tool belt. Make sure the back fold of the tool belt and the front fold are on top.

Sew all the way across this top, making sure to close to the bottom once to attach it to the belt tool. And then go to the end of the binding part to ensure that the edges are folded together, which makes a connection to the ends of the binding.

Knot the ends of the ties...... and you're done.

So it's perfect For person to work.

**This can easily be used for tool belts for girls too. In fact, our little miss loves tools.........and pretending that she helps us fix all sorts of things around the house.

The problem of carrying and transporting hand tools, as well as small parts for plumbing, construction or installation work, has now been completely resolved. Tool belts and bags, as well as vests and trolley bags are available for the DIYer. My eyes widen at the sight of such a treasure. How to choose the right device?

When carrying out plumbing and construction work at heights or in cramped operating conditions, as well as in a limited work space, a tool belt is a reliable assistant.

Any home craftsman will appreciate this device: carrying out minor repairs or taking measurements at height becomes comfortable and safe. You can easily and quickly remove the necessary tool from the side pocket of your belt or bag. At the same time, the hands of the working master are not tense at all and are busy with the main work. Why is a tool belt or bag attractive and how should you choose one?

Twist, Belt or Tool Bag

twist

The first sign of comfortable and ergonomic storage and transportation of tools was the roll-up organizer. The twist organizer is a durable canvas equipped with a large number of different sized pockets for transportation and storage. The size of the rolls of tool organizers ranges from 560 x 490 mm and allows you to place the required minimum set of tools.

Undoubtedly, the ease of use of twisting is justified when carrying out any work, including auto-mechanical work. However, twisting is inconvenient to use when working at heights, when the hands must be directly in the working position. Therefore, the appearance of tool belts and bags was greeted with enthusiasm by home craftsmen.

belts

Carrying tools on a special belt is justified in the case of work in which temporary descent and ascent is undesirable.

This could be electrical work or construction activities during which it is undesirable to interrupt. The common thing that bags and belts designed for electricians, installers or builders have in common is an improved design that evenly distributes the weight of the tool. Agree that 3-5 kg. tools in weight should be distributed evenly, eliminating and minimizing excess pressure on the spine and lumbar region of the worker.

The wide cut of the belt provides rigid support to the lower spine and back. The strict ideal cut of the design eliminates the unwanted possibility of injury to the back area.
The clever design of the belts is based on the use of heavy-duty materials such as tough nylon and genuine leather. The choice of such materials for the manufacture of belts and bags is justified by the properties of the material. Genuine leather and industrial nylon practically do not absorb oil or moisture. Therefore, the belt will remain dry even in the rain.

The material does not deform or wrinkle during use, thanks to the use of mesh fabric or elastic microfiber as a lining material. In most cases, tool belts and bags are adjustable in size and can be customized to suit your needs. Size adjustment is easy and securely fixed using special Velcro, latches and carabiners. Any fastening of slings and belts of a belt or bag is carried out using steel rivets.

For example, stayer belt for tools is successfully used during a variety of construction and installation work for comfortable carrying of tools, as well as consumables. The belt is made of durable nylon, equipped with durable voluminous pockets, reinforced with double stitching. The number of pockets on the belt can reach 10-12 pieces. These are two large pockets, two medium pockets and six small pockets for consumables. Quite a practical model of an electrician's tool belt!

Improved Plumbing Design kraftool belts for tools can be used to carry and store them. The shocking abundance of 18 pockets pleases with its capacity. It is noteworthy that the pockets and sections of the belts for tools are located symmetrically, which allows you to evenly distribute the load. The inside of the belt straps is soft and comfortable, so it’s simply not possible to rub a “work callus.” As practice shows when using the device, the belt must be loaded evenly from the front and back. It is recommended to fold the tool in this way: those items and tools that are leading (pencil, tape measure, knife, screwdriver) must be placed in the right pockets. And items that are associated with installation or plumbing work (nails, screws, ruler) are placed on the left side of the belt.

In this way, it is possible to create a priority of items according to their functioning.
In addition, the belt is equipped with hammer holders. With a properly selected belt, the locking device can be adjusted with one movement, and the clasp operates without jamming.

bags

Tool bags are no less interesting than belts. Compared to belts, bags are more spacious; the total number of compartments can be 25. The average geometric dimensions of bags are 610 x 270 x 400 mm. Therefore, such bags are an ideal option for long-distance transportation of tools.

Most bag models are made of thick polyester. To strengthen and stiffen the structure, a double bottom is used. For ease of carrying, tool bags are equipped with shoulder straps covered with a rubberized pad. Padded straps allow you to load or unload the bag by hand.
The internal compartments of the bag have a significant number of pockets of various sizes. The design of bag pockets in places of intense daily use is reinforced with steel rivets.

Small pockets make it more convenient to store the fastening element. Long and narrow pockets are suitable for screwdrivers and wrenches. All internal pockets are equipped with Velcro, which securely secures the edge of the pocket and ensures the integrity of the contents. Even on the road during transportation, small parts and fasteners do not fall out.

In addition, the bags are equipped with steel carabiners and straps with adjustable length. The compartments of the bag are separated using zippers. There can be any number of fasteners, so you can also attach the bag to the master’s belt. Built-in adjustable carabiners ensure the bag stays securely in place.

Trolley bags

Before you choose a tool belt and buy it, you need to think about its future purpose. Maybe even give preference to a trolley bag with a telescopic handle? Durable and mobile carts are equipped with shock-absorbing wheels. Therefore, trolley bags are designed to withstand significant loads when transporting home craftsman’s tools.
